It's that dreaded time of year when my car insurance is up for renewal...

Erm, I have had a very cheap quote (beating the next nearest by nearly 200 squid!) from Adrian Flux insurance....

Since I've never heard of them and normally only go through big 'reputable' companies (currrently with Norwich Union)...I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience, good or bad, with them?

Cheers guys..:D

Im on my third year with fluxy and they have been fine apart from being slow at sending out the certificate last year (but that wasnt a problem as they sent mr cover notes until i finally recived it) This year they have been fine and got the certificate ery quickly.

There only a broker and my insurance is actually through Royal and Sun Alliance

In that case would it not be cheaper to go through Royal Sun directly? Or is that not possible?

Also, I'm a bit wary of brokers since my last broker went bust and I had to pay out 500 squid for a claim I made when it wasn't even my fault and the other driver didn't have insurance!!

They are very cheap tho.....Do they need your driving licence etc? Or can I just ring them and get cover and don't send them anything?

Cheers matey

For some reason, No its not cheaper to go direct

They have been round for years and seem a pretty big company (others may not agree)

From what i remember you can get cover straight away, but that was over 3 yrs ago when i first got insurance with them and ive just renewed every year since.

Just give them a call and ask mate, its the easiest thing to do.

Adrian Flux has been around for over 25 year - initally specialising in Kit Car and Hot Rod insurance but he now also specialises in modified car insurance. The way they work is that if you mod your car then your are more likely to take care of it so you are less likely to let it get nicked, smash it etc.

The do alot of club insurance - our own club insurance (www.sw-cc.com) is set up through them, maybe this site should give it a try??

Firebond are pretty good, quote me £360 with 3pts, 3ncb and aload of mods. Might be worth checking to see what they can do for you.

Yeah Firebond will also insure specific parts of your vehicle like the wheels or the audio system etc.

I had a £2500 audio system insured with them for only £12 a month.

sxoc has Greenlight as its associated insurer. But its a bit hit and miss as to how good a quote you get.

But always worth ringing around.

Flux have been around for ages and do somehow always seem to give V cheap quotes.
If your car's standard and you're thinking of modding it, let them know, some of the companies they use won't let you.
If you do go with them and you have declared mods on your car, make sure they confirm to you in writing that they will pay to replace your mods if your car gets knicked or damaged.
Seems they are a bit prone to telling you it's covered on the phone, but if you do make a claim, denying all knowledge of it and just paying the car cost on it's own. Just make sure you get a written copy.
