Well ive fitted this kit to my car and i need to somehow get sidelights now for the front, well i suppose i could do without, but think the mot might disagree, dont actually know the law on that side of things!!.

This is the kit ive got, but the lights that go init are for the indicators, so how do i get sidelights as im sure the headlights only do mainbeam!!

unless you have the 'no popup on sidelight mod ' standard S13 headlights do have a sidelight build in.

So the headlights do have a actaul place for the sidelight bulb?

Well like i said, i actually aint bothered about sidelights anyway.

always have my mainbeam on when it starts to go abit dark.

Not sure my headlights do pop up on sidelights, will have a look.

Headlights should be your sidelights too, thats a nice little collection of cars there in the background, plus nice paint on the s13!

And yes you will need them for an MOT

The car looks awesome, I think you might able to find some aftermarket lights and connect them up and stick it on the side of the bumper as a side lights, but to be honest, I will leave it like that.

Very nice kit and colour...sweet.....

I pressume you are referring to the clear square lights that sit in the bumper?

These are actually the side lights. The late model 180SX (the 'Type-X') which these lights are for has a pair of round indicators set in in the apetures either side of the central cut-out in the bumper.

The bulbs which the sidelight units take are technically not powerfull enough to be used as indicators, although I doubt that this would be picked up in an MOT. IIRC they are around 5 watts as opposed to the 21 watts that most indicators are.

I modified my Type X light units so that I could mount a 21 watt equivalent LEB indicator bulb along with an LED sidelight bulb in each unit. It just invloves a bit of cutting, plently of strong glue and some patience.

Job's a good 'un
