I right fancy something big and comfy for my next car (I'll be keeping the MR2, this is for shopping/dogs and all that stuff) do you think an old S class merc would be financial suicide or is it one of those cars that you'd never think of getting but is actually rather good??

My mate just got a brand new one, he's a right spawny tw@t, same age as me (26) and his car cost more than my fookin house!!! He even spent 17.5k on a bloomin number plate FFS!!!

Int it annnoying when your mates do well.

Anyway, I think I like the idea of wafting round 'pikey stylee' in an old S class, what do you lot reckon.

The FinL (a mechainc) was recently saying how high the cost of parts was...

Fancy linkage for a single wiper... well over 200 quid plus VAT... plus a LOT of hours fitting.

That might be an isolated example though.

My mates got an S420 just like that but with 243000 miles on the clock. It has been well good to him aswell and only cost £750
Seats go soft in em and suspension is naturally quite soft but I think they are about 250bhp but heavy.
