driving skills day at Ford air field

Looking to get interest for a day of driving skills training. the course can be whatever you want help with or you can follow the scedule they put out including all skills.

this is the email i recieved from ben elliot racing

Here are the following details you require for the Performance Driver Training Days we hold at Ford Airfield.

£120 per person for 12 people.
9am-5pm or 10am-4pm.
Lunch included which is usually a BBQ.
There is no noise testing but we ask that all cars could pass a 100db's noise check.
Helmets not required.
We can arrange these days only on week days, not weekends and not at school holidays.

Driving skills for the day-Slaloms, grip circles, fast corners, hairpins, heel and toe, brake avoid, steering techniques and finish the day with a timed sprint circuit and a driver of the day award.

looking to do it in march sometime cos the weather and light is better around then.
i suggest the 12th or 19th which are mondays.

any thoughts and interests appreciated.

if you want in let me know your prefered date.

i will require 50% deposit so we can secure the date.

more than 12 and your kinda cutting down your own time you get being tutored. i guess theres a breifing and then off to the track.. i wouldnt imagine more than 1hr total talking including training. dunno 100% tbh

well.. i just spoke to kate at Ben elltiot racing and she answered a few questions.

basically it is £1440 for the day there is a maximum of 12 people per day. so there is no advantage of less but cant have more.. seems a little bad that they are not able to bend a little.. for example if one person drops out then its up to the rest to pay more or find a replacement.
with that in mind i think it best that everyone is sure that they can make it and when we have a definate 12 each person should pay direct to Ben Elliot racing to avoid arguments. if you drop out then you may get a refund if Kate can find a replacement on her database. apparently there are people on standby in most circumstances.


if there is a "couple" it is per person not per car

the day starts at 8.30 for a 15 minute breifing and then its all day on the track and an hour for lunch.. alot of time for the money really..

As you want people to contact me direct to pay, can you ask them to either call me on 01243 670467 Monday-Friday 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm to pay by card or they can send a cheque made payable to Ben Elliott Racing Ltd to the address on our website.



If individual people cancel I will only refund their £120 if you, they or I find a replacement.

Can I stress that all cars must be able to pass a 100db's noise check. They will not be tested on the day and there is not a noise limit in place BUT there are local residents that can complain about noise.

General
You do not need helmets but if you have your own and you would prefer to use it then please bring it along.

Suitable clothing must be worn for driving and for the conditions. There is no shelter.

Chili and tomato soup with rolls will be provided. Please bring any special dietary foods or vegetarian foods with you. Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits will be served throughout the day.

There is no strict noise limit at Ford but there are problems with local residents complaining. If all cars that attend can pass a 100dbs test then we should be ok.

Ford Airfield is 2 miles south of Arundel and the A27 in West Sussex.
Approaching from the west on the A27 turn right at the first major roundabout as
you approach Arundel. The exit is sign-posted 'Ford and Climping'. You will pass
Ford railway station and level crossing. Continue along this road until you see the
aeroplane on a pole, You are there!

Approaching from the east on the A27 you will pass Arundel railway station and
come to a roundabout outside the town. Stay on the A27 taking the exit on your
left. Continue to the next roundabout where again you take the left-most exit which
is sign-posted 'Ford and Climping'. Continue as above and you are there.

if you have a good upload facility you could simply package all the pictures of the day using winrar or zip. and upload the whole lot to www.box.net
its easy and fast and has a huge limit. then everyone that wants to can simply download and extract the pics. then you dont have to worry about the cds and postage etc.. there is a share option so it is easy to download also..

lol...... Yes!!!! Managed to get the rest of the flakey paint off... but as you see I'm just as quick at fixing my car as you! It's a perfect fit, just need a some paint and job's a gooden! Hopefully it will be done in the next month, bit of a stich really coz they have to do all the right hand side of the car 'to blend it in' - all I want is the bonnet, bumper & wing done!!

Gutted - just seen you got a bren device for sale, only bought a new one 2 weeks ago :(

Everytime it got washed (not very often) I used to sit there picking bits off it :D

Had that Bren device for sale for ages, couldnt be arsed to bump the thread or advertise it though, will bump it now actually, need some cash
