View Full Version : *** Horsham Developments is changing! ***
For the last couple of years I have been running Horsham Developments selling ECU upgrades and performing ECU mapping for the S13, S14 and S14a in my spare time.
Things have now changed.
I’m now running H Dev Ltd as a full time business and so I’ve had the opportunity to make some improvements to the services and products we provide.
To move the business forward we will be offering the usual staged ECU upgrades but, in addition to this, we’ll be offering performance parts, rolling road time via Surrey Rolling Road, a full parts fitting service and of course custom ECU mapping for standard ECUs, Power FCs, SAFCs, emanage and VEMS.
In order to make these improvements and maintain the customer service levels you’ve been used to, I’ve arranged for a mechanic to work with me. His name is Carl and has an extensive knowledge of Nissans – he’s a trained technician and has been helping build, maintain and run the Team Falken drift S14 cars for the last couple of years, and he has access to his own fully equipped workshop. Carl will be carrying out most of the mechanical work while I will concentrate on the mapping and electronics aspects of the business.
In addition, we will also be offering an engine rebuild service, which I also will be overseeing. We will offer a few variants of engine from a standard build with forged pistons up to full 2350cc stroked and bored engines capable of big power with great response.
As some people know, I’m in the process of building up an SR engine for my S13 and hope to have it running in February. This engine will not be built for peak power, but for excellent drivability and low lag, for use with circuit racing and specifically the 2007 Time Attack series. The complete spec of the engine is still under review but it’ll be 2350cc with a GT3582R turbo. I’m hoping for a useable 500bhp with minimal lag.
Parts available now:
S14a Power FC
SAFC
Profec B Spec II boost controller
Boost valves
255lt/hr Fuel pump
Z32 AFM (used)
Z32 AFM (new)
Z32 AFM plug
Apex’i air filter for S14/S14a AFM
Apex’i air filter for Z32 AFM
ECU upgrades for S13, S14, S14a, Subaru WRX (S13 ECU upgrade on special offer at the moment)
Roll cages for the S13, S14, S14a – meet the EDC drift safety specification
Nismo 555cc injectors
O-rings
Wideband lambda (AFR) and exhaust gas temperature (EGT) gauge
Obviously this is just the beginning - for an up to date list see here (http://www.h-dev.co.uk/index.php?cPath=78)

Stand alone ECU mapping - Power FC for all supported cars and VEMS

Awesome, good stuff :)
Is it just these cars you will be catering for, or would you offer other services - such as beasic engine work (gasket replacement, etc) for other cars? (Yes there is a point to this - specifically Eunos's :D)
good luck with it all

Depends exactly what you'd like doing - Carl is very experienced with the MX5 / Eunos's so I expect there wouldn't be a prob at all :)

How much will your engine rebuild service start from? :)
How much will your engine rebuild service start from? :)
It'll depend on what exactly you are after - and also the state of your existing engine (engine replacements will be done on an exchange basis)
If you want a drive (or tow ;) ) in drive out solution it'll be around £3-4k for an SR with forged pistons and standard everything else - obviously with new bearings, gaskets, oil pump etc etc. If you're interested, get in touch and I can give a definate quote :)
Nice one Jez, hope it all works out

Good luck with your new venture!
As regards your engine plans, just curious as to why you are not sticking with 2000cc if you are *only* going for 500bhp. Surely lag doesn't matter even on the track as long as your gearing can keep you in the powerband?
Lag makes a huge difference on track. Its not so much the rpm that full boost is reached, but the time it takes to get to full boost from a closed throttle. Makes exiting corners a lot faster.
To be honest, with the turbo I've gone for it'll probably make more than 500bhp, but low lag and response is what I'm after. I'll be up almost 400cc (20%) on my CA, so it should be pretty good :)
Best of luck with the new direction
Thanks for all the positive comments - hope it works out :)

Thanks
I get the machining work (boring, honing, skimming etc) done at a very highly regarded engineering specialist. I personally will actually build the engine :)
If you let me know your requirements I can sort out a quote for you :)

Its mainly the spanner twirling and metal scraping that I need done.
I allready have all the parts (Pistons, rods, other stuff;) )just dont have the time/facilities to do it myself.
If you email me with what you have and what you want to end up with, I can let you know if its something I can help with :)
