View Full Version : Your next car?
What will it be? How long do you intend on keeping the *****?
I'd love have an S14a - but know I can't afford one! :(
If all goes to plan either a 94-95 RX7 or an R33. If it don't go to plan then a late s14a, if it all goes horribly wrong then I'll have to make do with me old gilloppy!! (A Vanquish would be nice!:D )
I've always like 300zx's to be honest...mmmm

if i get my loan cleared when i plan to, and i can save for a little while after hoping for a supra, i have been very tempted to get a rx7, i test drove one before i got my old car, but i would just worry about the expense for engine work thats all that stops me, the 15mpg is another worry, but my s13 aint much better, and half the power!!:D

A TVR Griffith or an E30 BMW M3.

Skyline or possibly an NSX, but not for at least 3 years (enjoying my S14!)

i got some quotes for insurance one some cars last week, and pretty much all the cars i would love to have i can get for £900 a year fully comp, so thats what made me realise that they might not jus tbe the stuff of dreams, but strangely a s14a would cost me £936??? strange as a supra tt import is less than that! weird world insurance companies live in :)
Maybe a Porsche 944s2 turbo, if I can stop spending money and save a bit!
an S13 hopefully :)
Just gotta pay off all debts / save some money then buy one :D

I can't see beyond the 200, I mean where else can you get so much bang for your buck?

Lucky gits, I've been warned that "our" next car WILL have four doors, so the RX7 idea gets scrapped straightaway.
Having looked at few options, main choices appear to be a Lexus GS300, Rover 75 (nice interior when it's in leather) or a Mazda 323 v6. Not that any of them are really inspiring, but at least they should be reasonably comfortable and spacious.
What about the RX8 then, thats got four doors ;)
Dave
Considering the 350z in about 3 years...:)
250bhp, Turbo'd Suzuki Swift.
:D
;)
Maybe a new Scooby, 350z, RX8, or an BMW 850i.
hehe :D
You CAN turbo the swift (kits available) but you'll be bloody amazingly lucky to get 250bhp out of them :)
MMMMMMMMM
I'll show you what the standard swift acceleration is like on Friday. Pretty damn good for a 1.3. But you'll want a turbo after driving the 200
Dave
My next company car will be an M3
My next private car, to supplement the Merc Cosworth will be an E55 or C43 AMG
mmmmm,
R34 Skyline preferably GTR jobbie:D
Failing that a new 350z nice lines but needs a spoiler:D
or if I manage a large lottery win then it will be a Lamborghini:D:D:D:D for weekends and the Skyline for everyday pootling;)

I plan on keeping my 200sx for at least 2 more years, the I'll either import an S15 Spec R and swap my engine into it and go for some more crazy mods or get a 350Z and turbo it...
The replacement for the 200 will probably be either and RX8 or a 350Z but there's no hurry the 2*****'s only just turned 2. The replacement for my company car (Merc E500) will hopefully be an E55AMG in a year or so.

Of course I'll be an old man buy the time I can afford a good one...
Either that or the new kit car with the twin bike engines and the under 2 seconds 0-60Mph
Have seen Stage 1 tubby kits, 200hp claimed for AU$3500.. and there is a Stg. 2 which is allegedly good for 250...
I may be getting ahead of myself, a little ;)
200bhp is a hell of a lot from a 1.3. Thatd be DOUBLING the standard power!!! Wire ringed block and forged pistons anyone???
Dave
I take back everything I just said ...

Apologies !
Bloody hell!!!!!

Also;

:)
But yeah, getting ahead of myself, me? Ptcha :D
Why the hell would ANYONE want an Ultima ;)
:D
Did you see the mention (on Dave's link) of 400bhp Swift using modified T28 at 34psi
How would you even start getting that to the road in a fwd car that weighs about as much as a biscuit tin?? (sorry, that is supposed to be a compliment Dave :o )
Back on topic, next car hopefully = an S13 that's not falling to bits
Nah no probs mate, I was thinking exactly the same thing!!
Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread ...

Complicated answer :D
It depends on whether I can bear to sell the TVR... if I didn't sell the TVR then I'd get an R32 or R33 GTR to replace the 200 (more likely an R32 as I like the fact that the 200 doesn't really attract attention, which I feel is the same for the R32... might be wrong tho, but it doesn't look attractive to me  whereas the R33 is a more head-turning beast)
If I sold the TVR then I'd keep the 200 for longer and get something more extreme in feel and quicker than the TVR, eg 911 Turbo 4 or Noble M12 or R33 GTR (and tune that to 500bhp) or Supra TT (and tune that to 500bhp).
Have to see how I feel next year... gonna be a hard decision... I like my little blue car a lot! :(
must be horrible to make that sort of decision :p :D

RX-7 for me.
There one in jap village at the moment (in the current banzai mag)
triple rotor,800ish bhp, 220mph.
Thats the car for me!
though I should Imagine I will have to keep the ***** for a good few (10) years yet.

A Mitsi GTO 3.0! As a warm feeling spreads though his insides at the thought of it.
I've heard those GTOs arent that reliable...damn nice tho.
After Xmas I'll be changing the S13 for a 320BHP Pulsar GTi-R.
Anyone want my 2*****?
Graham.
Probably an RX-7 with a cosmos engine in it(triple rotors:D :D)
oh just noticed someone else likes that idea:rolleyes:

I have to agree I can't see anything beyond a 200 for my purposes. Its a fast reliable, comfortable, cheap every day car with extra oomph and fun when you want it.
Anything more powerful seems to cost and arm and a leg and is forever breaking. Anything less powerful is a step down.
And this only costs 8k to buy !

Wouldn't buy one from Jap Village mate... Not unless you fancy trouble ahead.

Have a look at www.neweraimports.com for RX7s, they usually have quite a few...

All I can say is "try before you buy".
I've always thought they look completely awesome, so drove one a couple of years ago.
Frankly, I wasn't impressed. Quick for sure, but dead boring with it.
There's just nothing like a lighter car that you can hang the back end out on...
In a perfect world I'd have either a M5 or a B10 V8. I just love the 5 series experience. Upart from nobody ever letting you out at a junction.
Another 200 S14 for me.... gotta hurry, my pipe and slippers are feeling left out:p
as arnie said......i'll be back:D
ummm, dunno, been German twice, Swedish once, English a couple of times, French twice, time to go Italian I think, I really fancy the Fiat Coop 20VT LE or Plus, yummmy, Black and Red Leather, with all those lovely round anodised Dials and lots of Body coloured metal in there and all :D, even though its powered by the wrong wheels it'll kill a standard 2 ***** as well

Hmm. Been thinking about this one lately (not that I'm planning to sell anytime soon:) ). Whatever it will be, it has to be rear wheel drive. Been bitten by the bug and am currently doing nice little powerslides from every available junction. :D Obviously this isn't a money no object question so obvious Ferrari and Maclaren F1 stuff is out of the question. I think within my budget it would have to be a used, but low mileage BMW Z3 M coupe! I think those ugly little sods are cool! 321 BHP straight out of the box with possibly the worlds best straight six engine, oh yes. I know it's not the most popular car in the world and most people would hate it but they are all plus points as far as I am concerned. An alternative would be a mid eighties Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera in Guards red with black Fuchs alloys and no whale tail............not that I've given it much thought......ahem.
BMW 850csi 5.6ltr V12
know someone who owns a dark bordeux coloured one thats a bit kitted and it is the nuts.
Idealy a skyline as most people or a nice porsche over the skyline.
Looking at about anoher 4-5 years though for that :(

M5 Beemer or Lancia Delta HF Intergrale

I can see it being a FD Rex, but I'd have to import a fully modded 1, it just costs to much money sorting a car from scratch :(
Or an R32GTR, but I don't like the money some people have to spend on them, and theres also the fact it's 4WD, I'm not sure I'd be able to have the fun I do in the 200,oh well theres no way I'm sellin the 200 for at least another 2 years, so I'll wait and see :)

Toyota JZZ30 Soarer (5-Speed 1JZGTE)
Toyota JZX90/100 Chaser/Mark II/Cresta (5-Speed 1JZGTE)
Nissan RPS13 180SX (has to be an SR20DET. Im never touching a CA again)
Nissan PS13 Silvia
Nissan S14 Silvia/200SX
Nissan ER34 4-Door GTS-T
Mitsubishi CE9A Evo 4
Mazda FD3S RX7
And there is more, but im too tired to think of them.. hehe.. Somthing like these would rule.. Soarers and finally a Chaser.
