Christmas has come early my friends! The arrival and fitting of my eagerly awaited Mongoose system has brought the holy spirit to my 14a in a very sideways fashion....:D

The story started out in early September when I received into my hands one immaculately conceived S14a fresh from nearby shores. All was well, until I got that itch.... I knew it was capable of so much more, beneath it's humble beginnings, I knew there were great powers bestowed in it's SR20....

I soon set out on a journey to reveal what this motor was capable of.... gifts of iridium, carbon and apexi gave a new dimension to it's perfomance, soon feats such as turning rubber to smoke were becoming all too easy.

Branded with new powers, the inevitable journey to the rolling road in the sky (or rather Extreme in Waterford) was now the chosen path. Accompanied by brothers Choco and Muttly, the trip prooved to be gloriously insightful into how my 14a had grown stronger and taken on powers that weren't expected...this child was destined for great things indeed.

And now at this holiest of times, a gift of huge promise has been handed down from the Apex gods....... a 'goose wrapped in stainless, boren for a free'er purpose, hallelujah! :notworthy

Blessed with these further abilities and free flowing boost, the hunble 14a has reincarnated itself into something much more righteous. Well, let's not get too carried away, it ain't biblical (yet) but it sure as hell has fulfilled the prophecy, you can tune these bloody things sooo easily for sooo little.... here's waht it cost me in total -

Apex induction kit - €66 (half price for slow delivery)
NGK iridium plugs (4 of) - €48
Bren boost controller - €64
Walbro fuel pump - €133
VDO boost gauge - €75
Carbon fibre facia plate for above - €25
fitting kit for gauge - €19
S15 intercooler (2nd hand) - €150 (thanks Derek!)
Cleaning and pressure testing of above - €10
Mongoose turbo-elbow-back exhaust - €560
Studs, gaskets, nut and bolts for above - €27
Fitting of exhaust - €50
Postage and packaging - €85 (approx)
Misc. piping, nuts and bits - €20 (approx)

TOTAL €1332

Happy Christmas lads! :sxoc:

Got a bit carried away with myself there, was very excited about the car after i drove it with the new zorst.... Well I had it on the road at 11psi without the exhaust and i got 225bhp, Choco's was runing the same spec with an exhaust and got 250bhp, so if i'm running 14 psi now, i'm guessing around 270ish.... certainly feels that much.

you probably got a 3'' bore though? I think the goose is only 2.5'... does yours have a front pipe aswell choco?

It's plenty quick anyway, as prooved my a race down silversprings against a evo 6 this afternoon..... we both gunned from 80 and was nothing between them up to 100 he then only barely inched ahead from 100 through 120ish... well happy at that!! He had a bit of a puzzled look on his face :)

The front pipe should release another bit of power for you so...well advised to order studs, gasket and nuts for the front pipe to turbo elbow flanges. Mine were pretty rusted and not the easiest to remove. I got them in from Kevin O'Learys for €17.50, had to pay up front for the parts and no refund if wrong, because it was an 'exotic car' - I laughed in his face. They were the right parts though, so no complaints.

Happy Christmas all!
