really want part worns r summit i can put on for the weekend. any ideas.

what other sizes can i fit? i assume the width Has to be 255 but can i change the profile?

cheap cheap cheap freeeee will do nicely.

ebay are best for part worns, but if they're just drift rims, scavenge out of Kwik Fits bins and use the lighter fluid technique to fit them

Bloody hell, that is a rare size, closest i could find on ebay are these 245.50/16's http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&catref=C6&from=R10&satitle=245%2F50%2F16&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D3&sadis=200&fpos=CV344DH&ga10244=10425&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1&fsoo=1

And try http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/tyrecalc.asp for working out what size tyres you can fit :)

But as they're drift rims you dont need to keep the rolling radius the same, so just get any 16in tyres with close enough width

i bought the wheels tuesday. they came off an imported car.. you may know it actually... was imported by powervehicles and was a replica of the dmax car:

http://www.driftworks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22104&page=2&highlight=replica

the white buddy club p1's they are a bit farked and the tyres have about 1 lap left... 2 are on canvas! :wack:

they are wrapped in dunlop 255/45/ 89w atm...

hoping any tyres will fit tbh.

think im using the calculator thingy wrong but i put in the size currently on the rim 255/45 r16 and got this:

Tyre code Diameter Circumference Difference
---------- -------- ------------- ----------
275/40 R16 626 mm 1967 mm -1.49 %
285/40 R16 634 mm 1992 mm -0.24 %
255/45 R16 636 mm 1998 mm 0 %
265/45 R16 645 mm 2026 mm 1.42 %

so does that mean any of those sizes will fit?

Just use the rim width calculator to see what widths you can stretch onto the rims, and for drift tyres you dont need to worry about profile, just what ever you can get hold of :)

Thats what i'm doing anyway :wack:

so all i really need to know is the first bit.. the "225/"

profile means sod all and the 'speed rating'

i know for road use you want to keep circumfrence (sp) the same for the speedo.

Thats my logic anyway. Obviously if you get a mega stretch tyre with on a real low profile you'll struggle to get it on, but not many tyres in 16in run mega low profile anyway.

I've never checked my speed rating tbh, as I dont go high speed. I think all tyres are rated to about 90mph anyway IIRC and how often do you go above that??

Give Trent's a try. On Ringwood road in Poole. Nearly opposite the Poole Halfords, behind a Shell garage.
They're a vehicle dismantlers and have piles of used tyres. Ive used them for various bits in the past, always helpful and pretty cheap!

rang trents with no luck. i dont like mike stokes since they screwed up my coilovers on a previous car.

rang round a few places, manages to pick up soem 215/55/16 for 5 quid a corner from bathwick tyres in ferdown.

whipped across to a garage i used and they put all 4 of my p7's on my new drift rims (eg took all 4 off the car, stripped tyres, put them on new alloys, balanced and put them on)

then took my new 5 quid jobbies and put them on the now spare original rims.. presto 4 drift tyres on standards and my s14 now on white buddy club P1's :D

pitty they a bit nackered and only 16" but looks better than standards :D bring on matchams tonight!
