View Full Version : oh bugger
well, thats the end of the skyline.
i would say looking at the damage that it'll be a write off.
wont be my insurance, but still, its an arse. no pics im afraid as mother couldnt find my camera at home and i couldnt work out how to take pic on my videos camera. although if anyone has a firewire connection locally and can get the video off the camera i can post it up.
Mate???? no way what happened ??????:( :(
Got firewire on my PC mate - drop it round this afternoon?
What the hell happened? :(
If it wasn't your fault you can insist they repair it if you don't consider the damage to be such that you wouldn't want to drive it again :)
That's a real bummer :(
Oh no! Sorry to hear that! What happened???

Ouch :(
So did someone pull out on you at the cross roads?
no, not pulled out. didnt stop at the stop junction. right across infront of me. i caught the front of his passanger door/bottom of the a-pillar.
Ouch indeed! Hope you were ok? Try to get it repaired under their insurance. Rare car like that should be able to do this.
:(
That is really gutting Simon. Your car was really getting me liking the R32 style. Just hope your not injured too badly
Matthew
Si, i know that stretch of road i think. Your car looks pretty fcuked, has the frount end gone acroos it looks like it has??? but your o.k so thats all the counts. Is the engine still ok?????? if you know what i mean

Being rare is the bad side of cars, harder to get parts and more expensive.
sheesh! looks bad! glad to hear you're ok though! cars can be replaced....
tbh guy, i couldnt give a **** about myself, id rather havea broken arm than a busted car :(

Better to have a busted car, than a busted head though:thumbs: no tthat we would notice about the head part:) :D
just had the police on the phone and the other guy admitted responsability so hopefully i can get another gtr asap.
Nah get a S15 are you sure that you didn't hurt your head

thats good news, but still not good that it happened that looked awful, good to see nobody was hurt though:thumbs:
the passanger in the other car got a broken rib, but was released last night.
gary, why would i wan an s15, have you seen channies :wack:
'i want that one'
http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/66229-1992-r32-gtr-metallic-red-sourced-newera-new-advert.html
Thats a very nice r32 mate, good colour  Channies car needs some love
mate, his car needs a flame thrower!! lol, only joking channie.
im in love with that colour now so i will have to have another r32 in that colour for next year. minds set now.
although, i could always do the old rb26/s13 conversion on the sly :D
Glad to see you and everyone else are ok. Nothing broken i hope.
If they do write it off it will be a CAT B. This means that the chassis is CAT A and must be crushed, but the parts are CATB and are fair game. The insurance company are allowed and can sell you back the car as salvage if you want it.
I wrote my SX off recently and got a pretty good settlement. I then asked the engineer how much i could have the car for. He said £270! No-brainer, i had it.
You should be able to get it back for small money. Don't take no for an answer. Is the car at your premises or a garage? If it's at the garage, inform them that you are intending to keep the car and you are in talks with your insurer. Sometimes they send the cars on to salvage agents even before the deal is sorted :(
Anyway, good luck. Hope you find another car soon.

tbh, i cant even be bothered to have another car here that doesnt work. id rather it went somewhere so someone else can sell the bits on and i just get enough money to buy another one that works!

Thats the way Si:thumbs:
Unfortunately the misconception that you can force them to repair is untrue.
However, you can retain parts of the car as said above and taking an RB26 out and selling it would get you some mega dosh towards whatever you go for next. The insurance company wont charge you much for it either.
Or even a spare engine for a big power rebuild?

lol, i forgot about your post mate. i dont have a car now so cant drop it round :)

as previously said, i cant be bothered to have another busted car up here so i very much doubt that ill be having back. i want one that works.

What I meant to say was that as it is a rare car, its more likely that you could get the insurers to repair not write off. Not that its easier to get parts!!! I know its difficult getting parts!

Poor old Channie - does a day go by WITHOUT someone taking the piss? Anyway, I've seen Channies car and I still want an S15...
People can take the piss all they want... Fair is fair i take the piss out of most of you lot all the time... only rite i get some back!
But now ive got the bad boy van back and i dont need the S15 everyday...

Cars gone now. if you have a look at purplepowers thread you'll see how much more is needed to use the rb26, its not a straight forward conversion.

im sure you guys will enjoy what i have in mind though :D

That's the crossroads out of Kingsbridge at Sorley isn't it? There have been so many accidents there it's unreal. My cousin hit someone that didn't stop at the line a few months back. So are any SXOC guys around that area? I have recently moved up to Exeter but when I first got my S14 I cruised that area. Anyone know? Can't say I ever saw another 200 in the locality. Mine's been off the road since June, due back in February after some pretty hefty overhauls. Looking to run in excess of 450bhp. See you guys at a local meet in the not-too-distant future. Alan Jeffreys ok for rolling roads? I've heard some bad stuff about 'incompetence' from mates with high-powered kitcars and him not knowing what's on. Would be useful to use though in Feb as was heading to Torque Developments in Essex or Abbey Motorsports, Oxon.

Buying a new house, working over Christmas and having a baby that has developed crawling technology is where :)
I guessed you weren't going to make it, when Mammoth texted me back ;) I didn't even know about the GTR... You could try and get a lift with one of the others.
I got an AVCR for Christmas. My wife is special. Unfortunately Apex are less special and it hasn't arrived yet! I'm coming to the RR day, and the next Jap meet, so you may have a car by then. Plymouth is too far in general for just a meet :(
