:) i followed gibo in his 200dy up north last night it was going well untill he gets on the M6 and decides to cruise at 140 mph for about 30 miles:eek: so i tell him to slowdown to 99mph or he will be nicked;) :( so he does another car*a merc* joins on to the back of us cruising for a good 20 mile or so, i move up to the front the merc follows me to take second place leaving gibo at the back were he hates it the most:) so gibo decides to pull out to take the merc so i move up to create a gap gibo takes the merc then just as we start to slow back to a tonn the merc switched his blue lights on:eek: WTF:eek: :mad: :eek: :mad: :eek: :eek: :eek:

gibo gets pulled at 120 mph and walks away with no producer just a word that went like this:...

copper "ok mate you know you were speeding so just go at a bit more of a reasonable rate please":eek:

gibo "yes ok good night" :eek:

mate of mine got stopped in his saxo in a similar situation, they clocked him at 126.7mph


We were well impressed.................didn't know a saxo vtr could go that fast, and it's got a standard engine with a piper x filter.

think he's saying goodbye to his license for that one

The Saxo guy - get rid of your filter and all mods on the car and replace them with standard parts. You can then "prove" in court that your car could not have been going that fast, as that was well over its top speed.
Some biker got clocked at 175 MPH, and got away with it when his lawyer proved that his bike wasn't capable of that.

Sounds like one of the decent Officers of the Law. Similar things have happened to me in the past. Unless the plod are after a booking no matter what, the better ones will give you a telling off.

I got pulled on the M65 near Preston just after Christmas by a merc like that! He kept me holding on for ages giving me a (deserved) bolloking "so not only will you lose your licence but your job as well" etc. etc. then he told me to slow down and buggered off! I asked a chum of mine whos in CID and he recons its a diplomatic vehicle (he thinks its Jack Straw's) Blue light behind rear view mirror and flashing head lights. I thought he was flashing me at first so flashed him a 'V'! Never felt so releived...
