View Full Version : Hyper Ground System ...
Interesting this one. Been tested in this months Import Tuner (www.importtuner.com for the site). Sorry reading it at work :D
Anyway,
They've got this ground wire system they've installed in 3 cars, standard and modified as the manufacturers claim 3-4bhp improvement. Being skeptical they RR'ed them and here are the results ...
2002 Suzuki Aerio(Apex Exhaust, Custom intake)
RPM----Gain(bhp)
2500---0.5
3000---0.2
3500---1.1
4000---1.0
4500---1.2
5000---3.1
5500---3.9
6000---0.7
6500---1.6
Overall average gain(bhp) 1.48
Mazda RX-7 Twin Turbo(FMIC, RSR cat back, APEX Power FC
RPM----Gain(bhp)
3000---5.5
3500---2.4
4000---1.1
4500---6.7
5000---8.8
5500---9.6
6000---4.8
6500---15.3
7000---9.6
Overall average gain(bhp) 7.09
and another I can't be arsed to type out in full
1997 Nissan Maxima 6.32bhp gain.
Sooooo ... what do people think ???

Sounds more fishy than a Northen slappers fishy bits after the pubs chuck out on a Saturday night to me...
Another gem from that site:

If vomit was driveable, it would look like that . . .
How's this Hyper thingy supposed to work then? As I understand it, it's an active ground system or something. Is it supposed to make a stronger spark, run your fuel pump better, what?
LOL!
Trust me, the cars in the magazine DONT look like that. It's actually good :)
The ground system and I quote "
"claims a better grounding path helps the engine produce more power???, better mileage, better response and improved starting ability".
I suppose the only way to find out if it's **** or not is for someone to buy one (about $100 for a 4 cylinder.) I might even get some for my swift if I find a spare £60.

Grounding is grounding, it's either good or bad. a few lengths of wire, crimps and a multimeter should have the same effect. no need to fork out hat kind of money. Im on the rollers sonn so may wall bodge one up for a laugh and see if anything happens
It'd be interesting to see what happens ...
"Hyper ground wire uses 1,477 strands of 99% pure copper, other grounding systems use less than 300 strands. Silver and Gold coloured Hyper grounds use 3 layers of shielding to prevent electron leakage. So even if you tried to use good old amplifier wire, it would not be as effective as the Hyper Ground System".

Have you got to be subscribed to Import tuner or something? I can find a link to the test.
****,
sorry mate.
I subscribe to the magazine and get it sent to me. The article was in the mag (I was sad enough to type everything out)
:(
Dave
Some of the jap companies do these, don't they... and for a lot more than 60 quid!
Sounds worth a go, perhaps.
