I was charged with careless driving in April.
I spun the car onto the pavement and struck a pedestrian after being cut up by a builders van (astramax with tinted windoes:rolleyes: ) in the same place as AMD did his s13. The police had 2 witnesses who saw me but not the van.
However when they finally got me to court the witness couldn't agree the colour or make of my car (white toyota supra?) where i was on the road, where they were on the road, admitted seeing the other vehicle, and were between 20 & 150ft away round a bend. My solicitor (Mr James Moreton, Mowbray Woodward thankyou SO much) made them look as stupid as they were.
Then prosections only question for was
"you were late for work and driving too fast while overtaking someone" (asked me this 3 or 4 times)
Me - "No I was not" (3 or 4 times)
He also did the same with my passenger/witness you started giving him abuse for asking the same question again and again.

I as expecting a little lecture fropm the magistrates but it was just "Mr Hart, your not guilty. You are dismissed"
Result: Me = :D :D :D

Sweet aint it. Did you ask me about this incident ages ago. I am glad you fought it and won. I seem to recollect that I thought it sounded like a load of cobblers that would get laughed out of court.

I hope you claimed exorbitant costs. I did.

Scares me something like this gets as far as court.

But I take heart that it gets chucked out so comprehensively :)

Well done.

Cheers, Phil

Excellent result, but it's worrying that this got to court in the first place as there doesn't seem to have been a credible case against you. Could they have been hoping you'd plead guilty to avoid the hassle

Are you able to claim for your defence costs?

I say old chap! Jolly good show! Put one up old PC Plod and his incompetent minions! Damn the lot of them, and their lack of a stiff upper lip in the face of real crime...

They thought you'd be an easy targed I suppose, a green mark on their league table. They've stopped recording crime round here - if you try to report a robbery they stick their finger in their pink piggy ears and shout 'LA LA LA LA LA...' You see, if they don't know about it, it can't have happened...! Besides, they're all too busy trying to catch speeding motorists, and locking up blokes who've been brave enough to tackle a burglar and given the thieving scum a thick ear  Much easier than catching REAL criminals I think you'll agree.

So, Plod.... F*CK YOU... and the piggy whor* you rode in on!

Can't even get to talk to one around here sometimes!

Next door rang 999 'cos a bloke was beating up a woman outside - the BT operator couldn't even put him through to the 'police/abulance/fire' type operator... had to keep him on hold for 3.5 minutes, at which point matey gave 'cos he thought he might have to sort it out himself! SCARY!

Cheers, Phil
