I competed in the scottish hillclimb & sprint championship in 2003 & 2004 until i smashed the car near the end of the 2004 season was on for 2nd place in class as well
i was in road saloon cars 1400cc to 1800cc had a mk1 fiesta 165bhp 700kilos was pretty quick
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l261/gazzawarren/Abouttoblowonday2Gazza.jpg
the engine gave up big time immediatly after this picture was taken in may this year lost all compression & all oil pressure so the car got sold 3 days later
doune is a fantastic hill if you go to www.streetfire.net and search for greame whites imp he has onboard footage doing doune in a 1099cc hilman imp in 51.10sec my quickest up doune was a 51.87sec

GWJ is a star, saw him run the Gould a lot, he had balls of steel, the first person i ever saw NOT lift on the kink on the straight at Loton, even the marshals started to run as they assumed he was going off!
The Festa looks cool, nice and light too, must have been hard work trying to get the power down with 165brake on List 1A tyres tho:eek:
mines Mod Prod over 2000cc (due to turbo) and runs 1Bs and is actually taxed, tested and MOTd:wack: undrivable on the road tho as tank only holds 1.5gallons. 250bhp at @725kg....
Predator by name, predator by nature.
Hes ditched the V10 now tho  and going back to the ex DTM Opel V6 apparently

rules are slightly different up here in scotland i was using yoko A032 SS some guys are using Avon ACB 10's
what they class as a road car up here as long as it has an MOT its a road car if you dont want to TAX & INSURE it you must get an MSA log book instead which I disagreed with as i had to tax & insure mines & used it on the road for as the guy that kept beating me had no tax or insurance therfore he could afford to put ACB 10's on & spend 2k on quaffie straight cut internals for his gear box. I tried to get them to stcik to blue book rules but was over ruled
Gary what club was that in I might be interested in having a bash.

I would say you have 2 options there is the caithness car club or the grampian automobile club they both have websites just google it Im a member of the GAC i would recomend the GAC club as we run a few more events than the CCC they only tend to run golspie circut at golspie
all you need is flame retardand overalls a crash helmet that complys with blue book regs & a msa competion licence national B non race which costs 34£ you dont need to take a test or anything like that just apply for it
sweet will wait till I sort my car now, oh keep an eye out for a decent s14 shell over in your neck of the woods as I might re-shell mine.

well done to you
how does the time attack thing work then ??
www.timeattack.co.uk - have a read. All the rules and regs are there
Just watched the promo vid for the 2007 championship - no footage of my car at all :(
Spose I should wash it and minimse plywood use a bit ;)
Beat Darren anyway, the bloke with the 650bhp yellow R32 :p
Boombastik
bit like our champ rules, we run to MSA Mod Prod BUT must be taxed motd and insured on 'road legal' 1B tyres and lights etc. Same for everyone tho, so doesnt really matter. cars very competitive to similar power/weight cars on full slicks tho. Ive used 32Rs in soft and super soft, great tyres and ACB10s but didnt like them, too slow to get up to temp, very light carcass tho, great for unsprung weight.

had a look at the vid so its like an offical track day thats has timing equipment looks like great fun is it only 1 car on the circut at one time
its sh*t staying away up here as we have to travel miles to do stuff like that which adds 1000s to the cost & if you bin it you need to get it home

Its a single timed flying lap - only one attempt, screw it up and you don't get another chance.
One of the rounds was at knockhill, so not that far - although all the other rounds were daaaaan saaaaaf.

is it still a 1.8
yeah, at the moment. Going to a 2.2 SR soon.
I've done 3 sprints, just local ones part of the Longton Northern Champs.
Somebody give me a coupel of grand and I'll do time attack next year, otherwise probably just more sprinting.
Won my first ever one, 3 sisters kart track @ Wigan.
Also done Aintree and Loton.

I've competed in the Time Attack, coming last... :D But then what do you expect from a standard engined MR2 Mk1? ;)
My wife Karen races in the MR2 Challenge (MR2C). I'm going for my ARDS early next year and will hopefully get a couple of races in the MR2C and some more Time Attack.
Here she is doing well at Mallory (Blue car no.14):

I also do sprints & hillclimbs. Did 4 this year in a Mk1 MR2.
Next year I'll be competing alongside CNHSS1 in the Scimitar championship :whip: I hope to learn a lot
I'd also like to compete in Time Attack 2007, but as with most people, it's dependant on funds :indiff:
Cheers, Raz
