Just rang HIC to get a quote for another possible replacement car for the S13..

Suzuki Swift GTi :D TPFT £850. Result. :)

So he said "We've got you down on here on being quoted for a modified 200SX a while back?"

"Yeah, that's right, I'm having to sell it because I can't afford to insure it come renewal."

"Oh right, my mates just bought one, blahdiblah."

So I got him to write down sxoc.com to pass on, teehee..

Then he quoted for me.. £1500 TPFT if my car was standard, £1800 with all mods declared.

£1500, sure as hell beats the £6900 they first quoted a few months back! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But yes. I am calm. I still can't afford £1500, so pft. Sod it.

Off to the bodyshop this afternoon to book her in to have the bumper sorted, then to buy some new number plates, and to try and find a cheap tyre place.

Expect to see her up for sale within the next week or two. :(

Swifts look cool, though...

Gonna learn FF drifting ;)

"The burning wreck of a suzuki swift GTi was discovered in a small ditch on the pennine route from Huddersfield to Oldham (A62?) , the car, despite being burnt out, had very little tread left on the front tyres, had structure compromising cracks in the front struts and chassis, and had small diameter, black wheels. Police spokesperson stated "We think it may have been on of those hashiriya ****ers we saw on the telly the other month."

Is that done in reverce then?

D
22-11-2002, 15:16
rofl, NO!..

Involves a lot of skill, and basically hammering your car to within an inch of its life, so I believe.

Either way, I'm screwed ;)

D

Oh yeah, and I am in a way looking forward to FWD .. Went over the Huddersfield -> Oldham road, doing 120 most of the way in a Saxo VTS. SCARY STUFF.

Taking corners at 80+, that in the S13 I'd wimped out at doing 40!..

Ho hum. It's a learning curve..

Least I can still say "My first car was a 200SX.." :)

A62 ** A640?

The A640 is a briliant road. Its a road you can realy go full out and still stay around the speed limit... well in the twisty bits any way. :p

D

Can't remember, the road that goes from Huddersfieldish, right over the tops, and down into Shaw?..

Dewd your selling and I aint even seen it yet??

How come insurance is so high?

Im 23 no ncb and can get insured for less than 500 squid TPFT?

Insured at mo as a chauffeur for my parents on my car, although they live no where near me and its my car with an over 50's insurance company for 206.00 a year full comp lol.

Thx

Steve

Mate, really not good - that does sound a lot tbh.
I'm gonna be paying £900 tpft on my Z this year. Surely someone will do it cheaper??

Steve, looks like you'll never get to see it :(

I was back in Swindon for 3 days, then just packed up and left, I'd had enough, really.

I'll be 21 with 1years NCB, come renewal time, Hmph :(

I would've liked to have kept it RWD, for drifting purposes, but it's not looking likely, so.. the Swift is the best idea I've got at the moment.

It's a nice opportunity to learn manual, though.

I'll come visit sometime :D

D

Oh yeah, and Swindon insurance is pretty cheap..

OL postcodes, and I don't stand a chance :(

SteveA
24-11-2002, 22:28
oh well :(

you'll have to pop over for a beer one weekend and see me and Jay.

You could always tell the insurance company my address, or tell them that you work for the MOD and have your car in a high security bunker all night and day. When they ask you for proof tell them its top secret.

Thx

ROFL. Might give that a whirl! ;)

I'll defo pop over one day, I know where Jay lives, so I'll pop by sometime. I'm not entirely keen on coming back too soon, sadly. lol. :)

Thx

Steve

I got a good price on fixing it, and getting the UGC cinema carpark 4ft scratch removes from the rear quarter panel (grr..) so i'll fix it before I sell.

Anyone on here knows what happened, but if anyone outside of the SXOC wants it, I'm going to have to be a sly *******, I'm afraid.

:(

Am asking for £1900 to anyone who enquires. A grand less what I paid for it in February of this year :(

Hey this is soo cool :) Have you driven a swift yet???

You'll enjoy it, before I get any more scrabbley nonsense comments, just try driving one first!!

Yes it's FF but roundbouts take on a new meaning, (not worrying about sliding round them for one ;) ) No seriously, I spent my way home from work yesterday morning trying to get the back end out around some roundabouts *cough* private road officer *cough*. You can just hammer around them even in the wet. May I suggest Eagle F1s all round, I got them for a paltry £40 each from a mate in the business. Normally about £65 each for standard wheel size.

Dave

PS: Daniel, giz a shout if you wanna know anything to look out for / stuff to do :D

I've... never driven a manual car in my life!

I'm compiling a new list of questions for you Dave, most of them revolving around how I can convince you to part ex your Swift against my S13 ;)

I managed to spin a FF Dreg Accord Aerodeck off a roundabout once!.. Whenever I drive FF now I get really confused, becaused I'm so use to FR. LOL. Despite the obvious lack of dori, I'm actually really looking forward to learning manual, and also being able to chuck a lil' FF car around :)

The Swift is at the top of the list, at the moment, too. :D

But for now, it is bed time.. G'night :)

hehe,

don't even try and tempt me with your 200sx you evil man ;)

Feel free to send me questions, at last something I can answer :D ;) Keep the swift at the top of the list, you won't regret it.

Dave

g'night mate ;)

Some of us have a night shift to finish :P

Only problem I'm coming across is how to convince you that automatic is the future ;)

Pffffft.. Not back in work 'til Tuesday :D

I won't make you sick by telling you what I've managed to wangle myself a job doing, for a while ;)

N'night :)

/goes.

Dave_S

Hmmm wonder what the new job is???? . You won't persuade me I want an automatic btw :p

Basically a web/graphic developer/designer of the lowest form, emphasis on 'design', as my coding is useless, for...

... an...

Erotic lingerie company ;)

And dammit.. You WILL see the light :D

Oh man!!!! what a job :D Get some free samples??? ;)

Dave

PS: You wish :p

D
25-11-2002, 16:58
Hehe, it's not particularly glamourous, it's just.. revealing lingerie, and plenty of PVC  and.. the obligatory sex toys. :o :D

Keep seeing Swifts around, now! Pulled up next to one, and.. suffice to say, I have doubts if I'd actually FIT in a Swift! :D

Dave_S
25-11-2002, 18:15
Dont worry mate,

Im 6'2" and 15 1/2 stone I fit in fine :)

Dave

D
25-11-2002, 18:24
Well 6ft 1, aaaand... about 8 or 9 stone more than you ;)

They are very smart little cars though, I'm quite taken with what I've seen :)

Dave_S
25-11-2002, 20:29

Just need to get the S13 all ready to sell, but it's costing me £££ before I even get in a position to sell her :(
