Two nice cars. The black one looks absolutely sweet but boy is he asking full whack for it!

The green one is way over priced aswell and whatever you do, do not buy an automatic, these cars have to be a manual to make the most out of them.

A lot of guys quote full service history, but what is more important is the gaps between oil changes. 3-5500 miles religiously is what I looked for when looking for mine.

I had a choice in the uk of a 2000, 50k with a few 9000 mile gaps between oil and a 97 70k with religious oil changes. They were both asking the same money and despite going back 3 years, i bought the latter car.

I had the car back in the country for €9,000, a bit expensive for a 97 but tbh it's worth it. That black one is a beautiful car, but you could buy just a nice one in the uk for way less. Waiting can be tiresome though...

Oops,I haven't noticed that the green is automatic :) That's a no-no for me.
What would be a realistic price for the black one?I was thinking nothing more like €9000-9500...
Unfortunatly I don't have time to travel and import one :( I need a second car in just two weeks.

that wouldn't be bad at all if you could get him to drop a little. I paid over 8 for mine but its a 97 not a 00 so those three years of extra youth add to the price.

Theres a lad down the road from me selling a green 97' 14a for €6500, its cleared and all, its auto, but he says if he gets the full €6500 for it he'll convert it to manual... theres only 60k on it i think, was his fathers car, never drifted or wrecked, and for a auto its pritty quick. If you wanted he could drop the price a bit and supply the parts and you could get it converted yourself..

I've just talked the owner of the black one.It was imported from the UK (not by him),but there's no service history or old MOTs whatsoever :(

I wouldnt buy an automatic with high mileage as you dont know if the gearbox has been whooped but what you guys got against Autos

Well,in my case I like automatic if the car is limousine etc. It's good in heavy traffic or on long highway runs when it's paired with crusie control. But in a sporty car what I use for the joy of it,I prefer manual.

I didn't say automatic makes a car behave less sporty,I said I prefer manual in a sporty car.Maybe I'm a pervert who likes to go trough the gears ;)

Ya stay weeeeelllll clear of both cars!! Service history or genuine proof of oil changes is paramount! #

Just occurred to me, Rob was selling his 14a, and she's a minter.... I dunno is it sold though...

By the way, mileage, condition and how well the car was looked after is more important than 3 years in the age difference....

As far as I know he's sold it already.

Hehe,I think it was useful that I've asked about the service history -> the black one is "only" €9500 now :)

Any thoughts on this one:

http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=494198

I know it's a '98 and 72k miles,but full service history,unmodified etc.
Is 72k too much?
I have to buy a car this weekend or lates next week (new job).
It seems I'm gonna end up with some turbo diesel (Mondeo TDCi 130hp) :(

Looks good mine had 80K a year and a half ago and has over 90 now so the mileage is good. Quite expensive but I'm sure he'll come down on negotiation.

What would be a realistic price for that year and mileage?7-7.5k?

7k, but the fact that its green, 6.5k - there a hard colour to sell on

Looks a nice a motor, mileage is fine, scrutinise service history... €7.5 - 8k

I'd say 8000 would be fine is it is in realy good nick might be worth 8500. Also note it's last update was the 12-Oct so it's sitting there a bit which means he might be willing to come down on price if he's not shifting it.

Lol,Mr Magoo from here has bought this green one a week ago :)
Small world, just met him this morning at a petrol station.I thought he's the seller (green 200SX with Limerick registration pulled up to petrol pump) and jumped on him straight away :D Then he said he had bought it a week ago. It's a minter and he is a nice lad ;)
