i swapped my wheels for some split rims just wondering if anyone knows anyone that could refurbish my wheels cheap? will these suit my red s14 plus what colour could i do the wheels?

Been to see Steve and he seems to think I should either do them black with a polished rim , or the same colour as my car, or back to silver. Got some pics for examples.

If you want them done cheap best do them yourself. If you want a quality job done on them then go to Renowheel in bridgend, excellent service and excellent finish but not cheap

how much per wheel

I think I paid around £90+ per wheel (not genuine split rims) and that was to have them stripped the spokes resprayed a graphite colour, the lip diamond turned and polished and all new gold studs.

If you just want them re-polished you could do them yourself, depends what condition they are in. Takes a lot of elbow grease, some wet and dry and some autosol metal polish. I also use the pink coloured brillo pads on mine to take out an stubborn stains.

i got quoted £70 per wheel

Who was that with? Was that just a re-polish or a complete new spray job? And did that include all new studs as they cost around 95p each and there were around 120 in my wheels.

You may be able to re-use the studs but if they have to be drilled out due to corrosion then your going to have to replace them. If they do the wheels are going to look a bit kack with a mixture of shiney new studs and old discoloured ones

I used them to get a wheel repaired rather than refurbed - hit a plank of wood coming onto a slip road and dented the rim a bit

cost me £60 (or near that) to have 2 wheels straighened out - one cracked so that needed welding and they were balanced aswell

Im almost certain he said it would be around £50 per wheel for a painted refurb though - but thats on a 1 piece wheel
