Hmmm this is the second rumour i have seen in the last couple of days about a Nissan move, some say as a renault replacement, into F1...
No smoke without fire? Ok its from ITV but you never know it might not be gibberish.

Drivers in the frame for the team are said to include Lord Lucan and Elvis Presley.
hmmmm with comments liek that i would say not, but anything is possible, would be interesting wht a jap manufacturer war in the mix

Yeah, indeed:D However others have pointed out that Renault has been thinking of cutting back its F1 operation over the next few years, what better way to sneek out..give it to Nissan to run, gives honda and misfiring toyota something to think about...
Could it happen....fek knows...
Elvis is dead man - let him rest!
and a quick google search:

I haven't read anything about this, so can't comment on the rumours of Elvis and Lucan making a comeback. lol.
But as an aside, Nissan used to run the World Series (which is currently run by Renault), so it wouldn't be that much of a surprise if their 'break' from single seater racing has been to collate data/develop an F1 car.
It would however, be surprising if they've managed to keep such an operation out of the media but it's entirely possible.
I think its complete rubbish, why bother even printing it
Surely with Renault being the World Champions and Nissan's parent company now, they wouldn't allow it!?
Renault do not own Nissan. Renault own some of Nissan, and Nissan own some of Renault.
Renault are a 44% stakeholder in Nissan, not a parent :p

With the rumours of Renault pulling out, it would make sense for Nissan to replace them.
F1 is a good way of building a global brand. Admittedly it's not cheap, but lots of things about this rumour make sense.
For example, if Nissan entered F1 it would make the brand appear more performance-based (I know they compete in other formats like Super GT, but F1 is undoubtably the pinnacle of World Motorsport) - which would suit the forthcoming launch of the new GTR.
Does anyone know of any new 'hot' Nissans coming soon? If there is a batch of them there may be more to these rumours than meets the eye??

Renault do not own Nissan. Renault own some of Nissan, and Nissan own some of Renault.
It was an alliance not a merger. Just happens that Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn is also the CEO of Renault.

The rumour is not going away, although i still think its a bit far fetched.
However this could be an attempt to get some branding in America, Renault don't sell anything in the USA but Nissan do a lot of business, so it would make sense seeing a Renault B team as Nissan

It's already gone away.
That link at the top now has some stuff about Takuma Sato being in a remake of Flipper.
edit it's moved down the list
