View Full Version : Predicted decline of Top Gear
We all new it was going to happen, first the guests started to decline. JK and the like were good guests, really interested in cars etc. This week though - Johnaton Ross  Whats going on, he doesn't even like fast cars! He had an RX-7 and hes now got an MX-5 WTF???
Now the cars are getting less exciting, clarkson didn't even test drive the Merc!
OK, I'm done. That is all! :D
Is it me, or is Top Gear turning into a weekly 1 hour advert for Mercedes???
Dave
Aye,
I made shed loads a cash so Im gonna waffle on about mercs all day. I miss quentin and the rest of them. At lest he knew that we dont all have big wallets or bradnew cars
The one good thing is that its now an hour long and they thrash evrey car around the track!!
Aye, apart from they all seem to be cars you can never afford! :(
Mind you seeing Mr Ross going all agrocutural while practacing was funny :D

I did realy like the 1st couple but now it's getting a bit pants, that fat feker is realy getting on my nerves. It seems to be getting dumbed down and at this rate it will be richard and judy presenting it by the end of the series. maybee fatbloke will be doing test drives of electric chairs. A tour of the merc factory followed by how best to wash your merc blah blah blah. and what the hell were they on about whent they said the 300zx was pants, what aload of terds.
To quote May 1990 edition of performance car (clarkson has a column in it at this time) "Examine a 300zx in the flesh and you cant help but be impressed by it. Be in no doubt, this is the most impressive sports car Nissan have ever built"
well i dont think the z boys will be too happy with clarkson!
thats 2 nissan slatings in 2 weeks
i did wonder if they could keep it up after the first episode, which was pretty good..... last night's episode was utter twaddle!

I agree it could be better, I think a petition is required to get rid of the fat tw@t, he's a proper numpty fuker than one.
I like Jonathon Ross though, I don't care what programme he's on, I think he's funny as fuk.

I like it, makes me laugh, agreed the fat twat has to go, I like to see expensive cars being thrashed, I like Clarkson and his dry SOH.
I also think he was slating the 300zx Z31 not the Z32 TT.

Been there done that, will everone else please do the same.
From JC's comments on the 300 I got the impression he was saying it was dangerous, not crap as such....
Thought last nights programme was a bit of a let down though, but I'm looking forward to the racing vicars feature.

My old boy has the book "100 greatest cars" or something like that by clarkson. And guess whats in it.... 300zx
Watch fifth gear instead, its got quentin and vicky butler henderson! mmmmmmmmm lady who can drive fast cars!
Clarkson is cool but top gear sucks ass these days!
Rob
I really like the new format - it is more of a motoring magazine on the telly than a programme. The 1hr is also better, I find it hard to see how a car can be reviewed in around 5 minutes like most programmes seem to do nowadays.

It started off good, but last nights was cack.
How many expensive executive cars can you look at in an hour before you get sick of 'em?
And that fat bloke..........

yeah but surely they have to balance between sports cars, family cars and exec's
i would love the programme to be all sports cars and supercars, but they are trying to appeal to all car lovers and this means that not evryone will like it every week
JC is really starting to get anoying though!

5th Gear... who wouldn't fancy a bit of VBH once a week? :D
Yeah, that fat guy and his clown mate doing the how to save money feature is a fecking joke. Im mean, how patronising can you get!!
Last week they were basically telling us that you could get a second hand decent car for the price of a new Ka etc
Well, blow me, Id never have thought that you could get a better used car for the same money as a new naff one
All the save money features have been cr@p and that monkey clown lad going "oh youre so good showing us how to save money" is soooooooooo corney that he wanta a good whipping to stop him doing it again in the future.
I like the rest of it though and the thrash tests and end features (grannys doing doughnuts, ) are sound :D
