Local hospital spent mucho spondolies upgradeing its maternity clinic and them shut it down a year later, people around here now have to travel to watford:eek:   so dont bother having a baby anyday of the week between 07:00-10:30 12:00-14:00 16:00-20:00 and all afternoon on saturday if watford fc are playing, because youll be giving birth either on the M1 or A41
they are all of the opinion that no matter how much cash you pile in now,it all gets swallowed up by the wages of the useless twots managing the places,
Next door neighbour is a nurse, she got fed up with the NHS so looked at contracting. She now gets to pick and choose which hospital/ward she wants to work, which shift she gets to work and to top it all off she gets £27 an hour.
Last bank holiday, none of the NHS would cover the three days, so she stepped in and got offered £1600 for the three days. What i can't figure is that the NHS claims it can't pay the nurses/ etc anymore money, yet they afford to pay the contractors who pay £27 an hour.

Most wards have stopped using angency staff as they cannot afford it, the managers have decided to make all the existing nurses sign up for bank which means they only get there regular pay, thats for one shift after another or for working on there days off.
The better half is a nurse for the NHS, it's not the money that bugs her it the conditions and the things they are expected to do which are outside her job remit. bugs me as well. they cant strike but they can work to rule which would realy cock things up, thing is they wont do that either as the only people to suffer would be the patients. they cant use the hoists on the ward so they usualy have to pick 20 odd stone patients off the floor who are having a temper tantrum. The amount of times I've nearly gone down there to give someone a good kicking is shocking, I could never ever in a billion trillion years do that job. I'd end up smaking some of the ungratefull bastids.
But be warned they do get there own back ;)
I do agree the uniforms are nice, especialy when you get home from work and she has her mates around, one of which works in ITU and has to wear what accounts to see through pink pj's:D :D
Now I understand why paul keeps coming round:rolleyes:

I'd pay more tax to fund an educational campaign that taught people that having children is a burden on society.
ok this might shock/offend some people, but we're not just born to breed then die. There is more to life than filling this planet with polluting children.
Still, I might go choke the planet with my car now ;)
Just a thought.

I'm right behind you my thought's exactly.
I want a dock in my tax because I'm not having kids I like my life as it is, so won't be using the midwifes or the education system.
Around our way, there's hundreds of kids pushing prams, it seems that they are almost a fashion accessory. Sad truth is the it's the not so well off areas where this underage spawning occurs, and the future for these kids is certainly not bright, or indeed orange. What's even better is that I'm paying for it.

Agree with the sentiment. My concern is the drain on world resources, how much longer can the planet support the human population at it's current growth?
Most of the young mothers around our way have the child as a means to get cheap (or indeed free) accomodation.
