Notifying INsurance on new points

Do i have to tell my insurance company about points on my license as soon as I get them, or just at renewal?

I renewd my insurance last week - and now I gotta fill this form out for norwich police to award me another 3 points for my fantastic driving :rolleyes:

The reason I ask is that im currently insured on a ford fiesta with tescos, while my sx is off the road for a bit of work. Now, i could just phone em up and change the car on the policy after I get the sx fixed up, but tescos arnt exactly modification friendly from what I hear. Moving to another company would mean I have to declare these extra points.... how much extra do you think that will work out as?

I think you have to tell them straight away, but if you only have those 3 points and no more they might not charge you extra......

Tell them asap.

It may make no difference but it could be held against you if it's something you've technically failed to declare.
