My flatmates laptop is fooked!! (aparently the LCD screens knackered and would cost a fortune to replace)

Sooooooo, I'm looking to get myself a half decent desktop affair.

Any advice on what to get and where from? I'll mostly be using it for the internet and this forum:D (not too fussed about aplications as I have to do work at work and can't bring it home. And there's the PS2 for games)

I was looking at an advert in the paper from DELL, it seemed like a reasonable deal for a conventional desktop set up but I'm a bit clueless. (and they did interst free credit)

I've heard PC World and the likes are a bit sh*te so I might go to a small build-it-to-spec type job.

Anyone know of any in the south?

Cheers, Alg;)

If you don't want to play games on it then don't spend more than about a couple of hundred quid...

There is no point in wasting good money if you aren't gojng to use its full ability.
