Help required.

The wife has a Ford KA 97, its developed a leak, which makes the passenger footwell and rear footwell very wet, so wet that the water rises up into the seats!

I have the TIS CDROM which has given me the likely leak areas to check but Ive had no joy!

Its not the boot seals, and the door seals seem fine, even when water is poured onto them.
doesnt have a sunroof either.

Any further info would be appreciated.

Think its comming from behind the dash:confused:
cheers
Dan

You'd smell it if it was

I'm not a Ford mechanic, or even a mechanic but have you checked all the holes in the bulkhead where wires etc come through properly sealed? Look especially in the area where the rainwater drains down from the channel under the windscreen.

Does it have air con? If so the condensation pipe may be blocked and leaking into the car - this happened on one of my pugs.

Ive checked all the wiring gromets behind the dash and also the brake and accelerator seals, all seem ok.

The only thing left to check is down the edges of the windscreen!

There is a plastic panel covering the wipers and the bottom of the screen, im gonna take this off and see if waters getting through here.

Im hopeing its not the screen seal as I wont be able to fix the windscreen myself.

The water might be ciming in throught the wheel arch and the inner wing into the footwell. I had this problem on my old Mk II Golf. It wasn't beacuse of rust, just bad design and sealing.

Take out the wheelarch lining and check that it all looks watertight back there...
