Did anyone watch Top Gear last night? Was Jason Dawes talking crap about Skylines or what? He claimed that you can't buy an R34 for less than £40k!! What about the Silver one that Middlehurst has for £33k? Or the ones that you see in Autotrader for less than £20k. And he didn't even mention Andy Middlehurst as the man to ask for advice! Would you buy a car from Jason Dawes?

Wasn't he talking about UK Skylines though? I would imagine them to be much more expensive than imports

He did say that imports are ropey because of difficulty in getting history and mileage verified. But aren't all official UK R34s imported by Middlehurst and then converted to UK spec?

But they are straight from the factory, not stolen ;)

They where testing those skylines last night in part of our works car park !!

I work for a massive company in St. Helens that owns a lot of the land and they used one of our private roads as its only a mile from Middlehurst Motorsport.

That fat man was talking crap, you're right. He didn't even mention that there are different versions of the Skyline. Some are only GTS's or below, which are not even 4 wheel drive. I think he ought to stop eating pies and pay a bit more attention to the advice he is giving.

At least he kept quite about 200's. I think thats because he needs a lot of interior room. ( I am being a bit nasty, but I have taken a dislike to him as I have been reading his weekly column in the Sunday Times and its also equally ropey advice.)

I completely agree. My girlfriend hates him. I say they should never have let Quentin Tarantino go to the other channel!! :D

And what was the bit about brake discs exploding? He didn't qualify his comment at all.

Yep, I must agree he's the last thing you wanna be looking at when you sit down for your tea. Fat fuk that he is.

I would also like to fight Jeremy Clarkson to the death!!!

Top Gears' much better though they just need to lose pieman.

It was the first time a watched top gear in teh new format, can't say i was overly impressed. Seemed to be a lot of filler and no substance. As for the skyline feature, seemed to be completely misleading, with very little sustantiated facts about them.

Another thing. I seem to recall Jeremy Clarkson roadtesting a Skyline R34 GTR back in the good old days of Top Gear. It was quite amusing because he just hooned the thing around an airfield trying to beat his previous G reading. :D

So there was no point in Fat Boy doing a substandard feature on the car 3 years later!!

Wonder how much the pies blunt the 0-60 time?

Yeah the fat ****** is erm annoying.
Loved the look of the Vanquish though, awesome.

But Norris' R34 is up for sale for just under £33k and it's a UK car.

GOD im glad i wasnt the only one, i was well excited about a new top gear with Clarkson coming on again but it seems to have dissolved like Clong said into a bunch of mindless drivel, there is no substance, a few shots of cars and then stick a celebrity in there to talk about their career, not that i dont like Steve Coogan etc, but it aint very cars even if he does know a lot about volvos, i fell asleep twice when he was guessing the door parts off 1970s volvos for crying out loud:rolleyes:

what on earth is happening here? i hate that fat git that tries to give us "expert advice" - exploding r32 discs was a good one, its high time that guy got on a ****ing bike to work rather than in a car rant rant RANT:mad:

they put a ford v8 in the 007 vanquish cos the v12 is too long to fit all the rockets and stuff in.

the vanquish they drove had a proper engine in it tho...

i think top gear are trying to make top gear somewhere between talkshow and the old top gear... to appeal to the masses. shame really. but at heart clarkson still likes fast cars, and its the only place to see decent cars being driven as their makers intended them... (well, assuming that used car salesman doesnt drive them)

take that pulling power... the big girl's blouse drove the m3 and noble gtr and NOT ONCE did he drive them sideways. that's disgraceful as motoring journalist! we demand more! (ok he did get it sideways once, but thats more the car's doing cos he just stamped on the brakes in the wet)

So did I.

Are you guys sick to death of the two Bond cars yet? Every single car show, car magazine and newspaper article has mentioned these cars. Now 5th Gear has decided that it is going to run a Bond car special next week, including a drive in the Vanquish, which they have already shown!!!
