lol... you know me so well. I had a week and a half of puppy love, and now she's moved to Gunnislake until May. She works in tavistock and won't have to pay food or even rent so it's perfect for her :) Just it means i will only be able to see her really 2 times during each week most likely. Means i have much more free time. I now have to decide how to use it lol.

When we start renting.. defo gonna try and get a house with a :ghey: rage . Can do all the bodging in safety and comfort that way :D

To which car? and why did it need a new rod end?

Gary>> I mean to rent gary, not to buy hehe. (or at least with it's own reasonably sized drive). I had enough of fixing cars on the road many years ago. To dangerous and a pain in the butt.

Carland its all about £500 insured standard parcel sent to friends in another part of the country and it miraculously never making it. Making sure the £500 parcel is small enough to fit in a letterbox and you have a receipt for an item that size and that valuable ;)

Not something i've personally done, but know a few chaps to have pulled this scam.

Chaved it up my friend. Was getting bored how my car looked so sprayed it black when i got bored on one of my days off.

It looked great lacquered and re-fitted. But then i flatted it back using 1200 to get a smooth finish and then applied rubbing compound to get rid of the scratches and shine it up. Unfortunately for whatver reason this hasnt happened. So now i either need to get it machine polished or re-lacquer it. Bodywork is far from my forte. But my car isnt meant to be showroom so i'm not all that fussed TBH.

Cheers for the advice Ferret.

Will have another bash at it today. As it stands its dull, and a lot of safe cut and rubbing compound powder still remains in the finish. I only gave it a very quick once over with the 1200 and made sure it was very wet so cant imagine i got back to the paint. For whatever reason the rubbing compound and safe cut hasnt shined it back up. Worse comes to worse i'll get all the polish off and re-lacquer.

Either way if i dont make much headway with it, you can all laugh at it at the plymouth meet!

you need to use 2000 when flatting back paint.
get some g3/6 on it with the machine pilisher, plenty of water then it'll come up great

*edit* or just hit it again with matt black

ScottB
15-09-2006, 18:32
haha at hitting it again. Just my attitude.. Thought 1200 was fine enough for flatting - my mistake.

Anyone local got a machine polisher and G3/6 for that matter?!:D

Garysx
16-09-2006, 13:02
that just the laquar mate:thumbs: . when it turns black you gone through:cry:. 1200 is a bit course try a finer grade or get a bodyshop to paint it up they can use a matt or satin laquar to get a good finish.
