View Full Version : help me. my s14's dead i think!
alright. just posted the same thread in the tech section and had a good response. to cut a long story short, i bought a 97' 200sx a week ago. since i drove it back home from brighton to cardiff the engine sounds like a tractor and it has a massive oil leak around the turbo (think its the feed pipe). it also smokes around the turbo /downpipe after about 10mins. its also blowing when i accelerate
im booked in to a garage tomorrow morning. been told to get new braided feed piping and new turbo gaskets. i wanna do it myself but think im gonna struggle! anyone in the cardiff area tomorrow that could meet up and take a look at it?

the garage is near the magic roundabout, ocean way i think its called. not far from tremorfa industrial estate where my mate works in another garage. you around that way at all? dont really wanna driv eit until all gaskets and pipes are replaced but will meet you if its not too far...

yeah im sorry about not meeting up. a mixture of no sleep and the possibility of my car exploding made me rethink. ive just bought a new turbo gasket set from apex and new oil feed pipe. should all be arriving on tuesday. what is the chances of you taking a look at the motor sometime in the the week? id rathe pay a 200sx owner than a garage whos idea of a fab turbo is a smart car. PROMISE i'll show up this time! rod

Dave, don't just pull it, it's bolted in.
just checked mate, there isnt anything but relays left.
Stick an m6 bolt in there , works on my welder :wack:

It's already bodged with some copper wire from some flex that I've wrapped around and soldered in. :)
It probably has less of a rating than the original though.
