Am I the only one who’s in-laws (well mother-in-law specifically) are the bane of their lives? I always thought those stereotypes used by (northern :p ) comedians was horse manure….until I got married :(

Interfering, bitter, twisted old witch

Can't fault my future FinL - he is a mechanic, and generally interested in cars and other big boys toys :)

He is also dead handy builder/chippy... if anything I feel guilty that I don't help him out as much as he helps me!

The fiancee's mother is quite tolerable - bit loud sometimes, but a big hearted lady. Even planning the wedding, we have been struggling to get them to give us opinion, 'cos they don't want to seem to be dictating to us.

You have just made me realise I am pretty lucky...

Cheers, Phil

I have only ever met 2 people that I just couldn't get on with. One is the mother-in-law and the other is my next door neighbour! What are the odds  :(

My ex inlaws were the inlaws from hell who could hardly even bare to look at me (much like their darling daughter). My future inlaws are great and both really into cars, just like my future wife :D :D :D

My mother in law hates me and I hate her!!! we never got on from the start, me being a country boy and her some kind of psudo snob from sheffield. Her daughter isnt good enough for me:mad: she was also a swindleing old bag who was trying to do an isa con in claires name, promising her 100 quid and telling her that was the full intrest ammount and it wasnt against the law. so I sorted all that out and sent her a cheque back with only the money she invested and claire got over a grand 10 times what she had claimed;) Just loved getting that on her :D :D :D she then called claire a disgrace to her fathers memory and they havent spoke for nearly 3 years, didnt even bother inviting her to the wedding last year, as the old hag would have tried to spoil things. she only found out we were married when claires sister told her. she doesnt bother opening doors she just turns into a green fog and floats through the gaps. fuking witch, did anyone see her out on thursday night? wearing black and riding her broomstick ;)

edit :- just to add, I hate every god forsaken miserable, bitchy, sly, lying bloody cell that donates her existance:mad:

Consequently so is my mother-in-law. She is INSANE, and those are Hayley's words, not mine.

My father came down last week, and he asked Hayley how her parents were. She said that her father was OK (I agree with that), but her mother was insane. My father turned around and said ..... "I quite agree with you" :D :D

I never met my mother-in-law as she died when Babs was 12 months old, and her Dad died about 6 years ago which was a shame as he was a great bloke who left us to get on with our lives in peace.
My Dad died in '92, so that just leaves my Mum........who more than makes up for everyone elses absence!
I find her hilarious, but then I don't have to live near her like my sister does, poor scone...
Actually I think of her as a mother-in-law, when I'm not adopted that is.

Lucky me....:p

I always got on really well with my former parents in law. Pity I didn't get on so well with their daughter.

And as for MY mother....JEEEEEEEEEEEEZ. 20 years ago I used to wish I had the nerve to ask my dad why he bothered staying with her. Same applies today.

Get on fine with her Mum and Dad, maybe it helps that that they are half way across the world :D

Still first time we met me and her Dad got well and truly wasted together with her and her Mum just sadly shaking their heads, her Mum doesn't mind sending me cheap stuff from HK either like blank CD's and things when we request em so i got no complaints
