Just downloading the leaked alpha now, seen a few articles saying Mr Carmak isn't too chuffed that ATI leaked a copy.

but remember it is only an alpha... a friend has it and its a real resource hog..

The actual frame rate on one of the PC's at home was fairly good considering. Fiddled about with it for a bit - the monster's dont respond too well in this so I look forward to the full game ...

Got it running OK, tweaked the res and got rid of a load of stuff out of the .cfg's that my system didn't need and it runs fine. I like the way the zombies come back to life after different times depending on how bad you blasted them, makes it more interesting when you go back to bit's that you've been through before.

I got mine via the newsgroups which can be accessed through outlook express (but it's a real pain) or using a good news browser.
I use newsbin and found brilliant, really easy to use and set up. I've even registered my copy for $35 and I don't do that very often.

I'm amazed it unzips to almost a gig ... obviously that'll be a lot smaller in the final game ... :D

Can anyone point me in the right direction. Got one coming off of overnet (if I ever get a source). Can't find anything complete in the newsgroups / my normal FTPs.

damn my 56k conn....lol...so far d/l 75 meg and counting,
at this rate I,ll have it in 3 days hehe,

the newsgroups do have it.....but for 56kers with a cut off period
its pointless d/l via newsgroups...thanks for the pointer anyways

efnet for ftps is the best source on irc,
lots of brits on there too:)

otherwise use the edonkey app,
and go to www.sharereactor.com for direct d/l links,
thats where im getting it from....not as fast as newsgroups
or ftps but you,ll get it...eventually:D

its not on kazza yet....its always the last app to serve
the latest leaked software...but you can beat its interface!

I found it eventually on an obscure Russian FTP. I'ts coming down now, about 100mb done.
