what a hassle it is.

I know there's a small handful of decent ones but its still worth shopping around... lowest quote was £400 (bell direct) with my light mods (k&n, boost gauge, 17s). But they wouldnt do a DV as it was something "boy racers use". (*snigger*, QED etc)

Had to explain to about 5 diff sales people at diff companies what a boost gauge was (*yawn*).

Still, £15 extra if i have a dirty great Blitz exhaust system :D

I'd hate to go insurance hunting if I had the sort of mods some of you maniacs have... imagine reading and explaining all that to 10 diff sales people!!!

Anyway, have a few more to ask... where's that coffee gone?

PS it's kinda putting me off my long term plan of getting a supra or skyline and tuning it to death just to beat a 911 (993) Turbo 4. I think I might as well go and buy the 993 and keep it standard but still fecking quick.

I'm insured with Norwich Union Direct and they're "ok with mods up to a point" but where that point is the guy couldn't say. I've declared my alloys and he said that a filter and exhaust would probably be ok too, but would obviously put the price up.

Simple

Send 15 quid to the SXOC admins and join the owners club, then get access to an insurance company that does great deals on mods and 200's

I switched mine from Tescos today...

I'm 27, 5 years NCB, been driving since I was 18.
200SX with goose, K&N filter, Bailey BOV

£661 fully comp, PNCB

The guy even asked if it was an S13 or S14, I was shocked, and then he said...

"Your car puts out about 180bhp standard, with that lot I rekon your pushing about 190 / 195"

Lets hope they are as knowledgeable and friendly when I wrap it around a lamppost. (Hey Jackal, wanna come for a ride ? I found a few posts still standing... :D)

Adrian Flux have always been quite good, their specialist vehicles department doesn't have an attitude like most of the others I've had to deal with in the past.

I put the 280bhp S13 I recently picked up on cover with them for less than £900 with no NCD when most of the other insurers told me I must be having a laugh even though I have a full 6 years NCD on my modified Jeep.

I've got my mk1 MR2 on cover with Hyperformance at the moment but it was a nightmare getting the paperwork sorted and laying my hands on the insurance certificate so I don't think I'll be using them again.

I've tried quite a few now. Resilient little bugg3r, me.

Looks like 400 is the cheapest I can get, which isn't bad as its only 100 more than the fiat cinquecento which the 200 replaces! :D

I see you jumped straight from the cinquecento to the 2*****.

You skipped the Punto option. You have NO IDEA what you've missed........especially with the 1.2 8v.

58bhp, 0-60 in 14.3, top end of 96mph....

In fact, the list just goes on! :D :D :D :p

hehe my wife had a punto 55s... with 55 raging horses straining at their leashes! Feel the power! Feel the torque! I was smokin' Ferraris and Skylines everywhere. Oh yes!

Seriously tho, the cinq sporting was actually a pretty good car in the right environment ... tight twisty roads or tight city roads/back streets... could go much faster than you could with a 200... grips like mad round corners too. And when you've finished having fun, you just pop the car back in the 200's boot :D
