BMW Z4 - what do you reckon?

Has devided opinion a bit, so what do you guys think? I reckon it's defo more of a grown up, proper sports car than the Z3 (and TT) for a start.

Like the back, reminds me a bit of a 360 Modena :o

Is it better than a Boxster? Personally I've always thought the Boxster looked back to front. Interested to hear some opinions :)

Whether it's any good or not is irrelevant as it will be driven around by the blue rinse brigade, hairdressers, complete w@nkers or all three :rolleyes:

Well I rate it as better looking than the Z3, but then most of the Z3s were such a girly car, hardly any wonder.

I'm not so sure about the shape in general. It's got a lot of detailing designed to make it a little different. From experience, I'd suggest that it's going to probably date very badly and very quickly.

So whilst I think it looks OK, I'll give it the thumbs down for long term appeal.

Also, it has 4 BMW badges to nick, That'll cost them when they all get nicked by a bunch of pikey children :(

I'd like to see what the z4m is like before making an opinion... according to top gear (or was it 5th gear?) its supposed to be much more of a driver's car.

the rear end looks nicer than the sides/front... maybe cos I'm not convinced by the "flame surfacing", as BMW call it.

Yes, thats pretty nice.

Then again I have always been a firm believer of moneysworth, so if it's price outweighs its abilities, BMW can shove it... I will never buy a car for it's badge and thats final, and I'll be damned if I pay over the odds for that badge.

Better than the Z3 - but I don't like soft tops - never have - they're always too hairdressery. Having seen it on 5th gear, the engine in the 3.0 litre sounds good, but all BMW straight six engines sound good IMHO

And for the money, if you want a Beemer, you could buy an M3 that was a couple of years old. A mate has an '97 R plate M3 Evo that he paid £18k for and is INSANELY fast - I bet a new Z4 would cost more than that...
