So who is up for a little drag action at Santa Pod to finish the event year off :thumbs:

I have reserved the club a stand for 20 cars but this can be increased if we have a lot more wanting to go and I know quickly.

Tickets will be £10 each delivered by recorded delivery

**IMPORTANT** Please make sure your address details are up to date in the club database as these will be used to send you tickets out. You can view and amend these details via your “MY SXOC” link on the main website page of www.sxoc.com. If you have any problems please PM Ken or myself

I know I sound dumb, but haven't met up with anyone from the club. Went to the earlier japshow but got a bit too drunk so didn't look around too much.

I guess it all depends what time you get there, but you may have to queue for a couple of miles before you even get to the gate. Once you get to the gate you have to join the queue for the car parks, and once you get to the end of that one, you get ushered into the stand area, where you join another queue whilst you try to get through the queue for the strip :D :D

After a week stood still, my rear brake discs have rusted up. I've spent all week trying to clear the rust off but it looks like they are now beyond redemption. I can't risk driving any distance on them in the state they are in (never mind the embarrassment of the noise they are generating every time I touch the brake pedal :eek: ).

I'm going to have to pull out, so my stand place is now available.

I'm really sorry for the late notice, but I spent yesterday trying to clear them up, but it's been to no avail.

One new set of discs and pads are hopefully on their way to me.

Mark - the cheque for the XMAS meal has gone in the post today, seeing as I'm not going to be able to give it to you in person tomorrow :(

I've tried the heavy braking. A LOT. I was out yesterday braking from well over 100 *cough* km/h ;) down to 10 on a large number of occasions and all it's done is shine up the areas that were rusted. They no longer look rusty, but are raised from the main disc surface :( . There wasn't enough time yesterday to take them off and sand them down or do anything else. I'm at work all day today and am already committed to something tonight so can't do anything about it now.

Think a few of you struggled to dind grip for the launches which was a shame.

Got a 14 day wait to see if some specs cameras got me in roadworks en route there (didn't see first set of specs cameras), prob doing 55 in a 40, never mind + fingers crossed!

anyone get pics and vids. andy forrests, simon norris' evo and some of the skylines scared me with their power. think the nd evo may need a new gearbox or synchro or some tlc as it wasn't happy going into gear...

Thanks to Mark & Danielle for doing a stirling job with the stand. We actually looked like a proper club :eek: :cool:

My times were disappointing, 6 runs & the best I managed was a 13.05 @ 115 mph. The car just didn't want to launch :(

I think i'm gonna need ALOT more practice at this!

Thanks also to Juz, for being the SXOC photographer for the day. It's a lonely job, but we've gotta put that talent to some use eh? :D

Top day guys...I really should get some extra practice so I either don't mess the start, or don't miss third haha..my best time was a 14.4 at 101.9mph..missing third again :annoyed: :annoyed: ...I'd hope for somewhere in the 13's the next time :thumbs:

Thanks to everyone who turned up and made the stand look like a proper job, my job was easy, i only had to stick a couple of banners up :wack: it was the quality of the cars that made it what it was :sxoc: Diggletts car in particular seemed to be getting plenty of attention :nod:

Quiet pleased how my first event went and being on the tarmac was a bonus as i was expecting to be on the grass :thumbs:

They loved it! - Obviously they struggled with the helicle diff, but even so they made it look easy!

Got a 14 day wait to see if some specs cameras got me in roadworks en route there (didn't see first set of specs cameras), prob doing 55 in a 40, never mind + fingers crossed!
I found them...i was filming at the time and only realised when the skyline infront of me braked sharply down to the limit that we were in a 40....:down: Still heres to hoping the :censored: didnt get us hey??

Ahhhh i see.

That was a really crap start:( I have th ticket for that run at work, ill get it tommorow but at the end of that the Supra only won by .4sec. I caught him up loads.
