Do your windscreen washers have to work to pass MOT? Not my car (for once) but the wife's Astra is going in for the test Monday and the damn things have packed up :mad:

Just wondering if it is part of the test under the guise of not having obscured vision or something out on the road?

Thanks m8, luckily I have managed to fix them :D

Took the bottle thingy off and inside was all gunged up where the motor sits in the water. Cleaning it out I exclaim "Bloody hell, how did all this gunge get in here!?" The Mrs, looking a little guilty, mumbles "Well, I did put lemonade in there when it ran out once, because I had no water" :rolleyes:

If you use washing-up liquid instead of screen wash, it can leave a gunky deposit which can clog the jets and pump in time.
