just got myself one! bloody wicked fun.
just wondering if u can copy ps2 games using a pc? is there a programe that can do this? do u need to chip your ps2 so it can play copyed games?

The best way is to chip the PS2 with a Messiah chip or near-equivalent. The Messiah chips will pretty much let you do whatever you want disc-wise on a PS2.

As for copying the games, most of the ones released are rips - data taken from the DVD's, fiddled with, usually having cutscenes ripped out, then put back onto CD in a reduced state. It's fair enough if that's your cup of tea but I personally would be disappointed playing a game and not having a end-game sequence at the end because it won't fit on a CD. That's why I went out and bought a load of games last month. Plus I'd rather like to try and keep my PS2 nice and original so it might be sellable in the future should I need to!

unless your good at soldering i would not recommend

Thread hijack... :)

I asked about altering a PS2 to play non UK region'd DVDs some time ago, and someone suggested an 'Action Replay cartridge', and that it also let you copy DVD onto video.

1. What does it do, how does it work, where does it plug in.
2. Does it really let you copy DVDs to vid?
3. Anyone got any other suggestions?
4. Is there any way to play VideoCDs on a PS2?

Just buy Grand Theft Auto - Vice City in two weeks time and it will keep you occupied for ages! I can't wait!;)

1. Its a cheat cartridge + multi region DVD + Gets rid of green screen. Goes in the memory card slot.
2. mmm Not sure about this but haven't tried it.
3. Not really as I have one:D
4. There was an addon that you could get for the PS1 to allow this, not sure about the PS2 though :rolleyes:

I used to chip playstations all the time. It can't be that difficult to do a PS2 yourself too?
