more problems
car was running fine yesterday, started her thismornin.. fine... started driving it and its been pourin out blue smoke since!
seems ok idling from cold, but as soon as the accelerator's touched it starts coming out! im not sure if its just my imagination but it sounds like its missing (or its got a scooby engine) when u give it a few revs?
anyone got any ideas what it could be?
got this feeling its an expensive one (...again...)

is there an easy way to check?
it wasnt you in caerphilly earlier was it?
If he was in a blue/grey s13...well I cant say yes, but probably ;)
If your running the standard turbo mate, they are cheap as chips (around £40-£80 second hand) so i wouldnt worry to much

nah maybe not then... was a black 1 like the 1 in his sig!
is it likely to be the turbo then...? or could it be piston rings / valve seals / anything else?
if its the turbo thats no probs.. if not ill probably just spend out and get the engine rebuilt (as standard spec though since i havnt got the dollar to do a rebuild full of upgrades atm!)
Im no expert mate so better off in the tech section, but im sure everyone will recommend the turbo as the first thing to check.
When exactly is it happening, when u first start up, on full boost, on idle, etc etc? I've learnt that the more detail you provide the more value for problem diagnosis will be.
Im pretty confident it is the tubby though.
Also be eagle eyed on your oil level, cos it will be burning it! If it runs to low then you will be going bang pretty quick.

first start it up from cold its not bad, takes 5 mins of warming up before it gets to bad! once its warmed up it smokes a bit on idle but the more you rev it the more smoke comes out
It was probably betters you saw in caerphilly (he works there)
I did see you a few days ago  I was in my stealth van though.
Take the inlet pipe off the front of your turbo an look for a puddle of oil

took the inlet pipe off, small puddle of oil at the bottom... is there not suppost to be any oil there at all?
where'd you see me the other day then?
I saw you near the castle

ah right... so with the turbo you think the oil at the inlet would say its the turbo thats dead then?
if thats right i might just do a bit of upgrading while im at it.. get a new t28 instead of another t25 and get it ready for stage 2 :D
Not deffinately  it could be dumping oil through the breathers

noo i was hopin for a yes then! ill try get hold of a new turbo anyway and see if it works... ive been told if its piston rings/valves anything like that im looking at basically a minimum of £1k to have it repaired  (... so ill just keep hopin its the turbo!)
wheres the best (and quickest) place to get gaskets from? (manifold-turbo turbo-downpipe should be enough shouldnt it? or will i need to take more off than that?)
depends where you go to sort it ;)
take the breather off the inlet pipe, block the hole that will be left in the inlet pipe then try it :)
It's much easier to take the manifold off with the turbo etc still attatched. Id get the gaskets from Nissan, should be just under £70

ill try taking the breather pipe off in the morning, should that stop it then?
i went down to a place in Radyr today (engineprofessionals.co.uk - found it in the yellow pages!)and thats what they have said anyway.. basically £1500 would get u a BASIC rebuild
I will stop any oil from the brethers going into the inlet to be burnt through the engine.
I can stop off on my way to work monday evening if you want :)

you havnt got space for any more pm's!
tried taking the breather pipe off earlier and it didnt make any difference... there was a bit of smoke coming out of the breather pipe from the engine side though if that means anything?
