First things first, yes, I did buy Redline magazine:o
I got it cos I've been stuck in doors hiding from the crappy weather that, frankly, if it gets any wetter in Oldham I may have to build an Ark!
Anyway, found an advert for Savoy tyres and was quite impressed by some of their prices for 18 and 19 inch alloys with tyres. For example, 18 inch 1000 Miglia HT3s (look like the alloys on Seat Cupra Rs) with 225/40ZR18 for £850. The same with 225/35ZR18 for £920 and big momma 225/35ZR19 for £1250.
These prices include locking wheel nuts, balancing, valves and UK delivery. They seem to do Miglias, TSW and they claim to do others at good prices. The web site is pretty crap @ savoytyres.co.uk but the phone number is 01482 796239.

I'm not on commision but I'm quite tempted by the 18s with F1s, mmmmmmmmm:D

£1250 for something that'll last approximately 2 months before they're warped beyond repair??

No thanks.

Only reputable/decent alloy brands available aftermarket are:

BBS, Compomotive, Sparco, Speedline, Dymag, Ronal

Funnily enough, these boys are THE competition wheel manufacturers...

My mate had a cheap 18" alloy shatter on his Escort Cosworth causing over £2500 worth of damage to the wing and surrounding bodywork.

Feck!

Good point well made. Suppose you get what you pay for. Been checking out OZ super Ts and Leggras, mmmmmmm OZ alloys:D
Anyone know of any cheap(er) suppliers in the the North West. Wheel Base near me seem to require the deposit of Kidney for a decent set:)

Just a quick 2p's worth

An additional brand that should be trusted is wolfrace they have been making alloys for over 30 and know what they are doing.

Just ask your dad what brand name alloys were arround in his day , if they are still around today they can't be bad.

Note: There customer service i found was totaly poo , but the wheels are nice.

C.

????? I believe that that is a mith m8, I was told this when 17" after market wheels came out, I bought some anyway, and had no probs, I now have had 19" with 35 profile tyres, and have had no problems (touch wood ;) ) Basically no wheel is going to stand up to a serious curbing, or even an extreme pothole, The only thing u've got to worry about is that if it does happen to ur 19's it's gonna cost alot more to replace.

So what's wrong with Momo, OZ?

I think you'll find that OZ are one of THE competition wheel manufacturers.

F1, Rally, Cart, GT and Touring Car - Or are these not competitions? ;)

Admittedly MOMO is THE competition manufacturer for steering wheels.

Don't you believe it mate.

My Bro runs a tyre shop, and the amount of wheels he takes off boy racers motors with no obvious damage on them, but buckled to piss. Off to spit n polish who promptly pronounce them too far gone to repair.
