If TomTom works on the first three figures of postcode, then gives a list of roads to choose from, then yes :p

RichyBoy, run a map off Multimap before you go. SatNav sucks

I'm running tomtom mobile 5 on Windows Mobile. Didn't know there was a later version?

Yes, it only uses the first three digits, then you choose th eroad name... then it gives you a choice of THREE Oundle Roads to choose from. Naaay matter, I've got it sorted now

Those who say sat nav is rubbish obviously either a) haven't used it before or b) have a shite one  I can't do without it now

Real men shouldn't need satnav - they should be able to negotiate their way around the country by using the in-built compass inside them that has been there since the hunter/gatherer days which enabled them to find food and beer and good cars, and by being guided by stars at night and lay-lines and magnetic force fields during the day. And road signs, of course. This is how I intend to find my way to JAE tomorrow.

See you all on Saturday

:)

It will normally put you on the door step of the house number you're dirving to... however, if there is a hugely long road... and no house number to use, then things get a little, erm, difficult.

Handy for mountain biking too

Yep you need the full postcode patch, either that or when you plan a journey, your "enter address" rather than flucking to the next page and "enter postcode" ;)

My TomTom version as the same when I "got" it You need the full UK postcode file and in the correct directory.

The file is Great_Britain.postal (8.2Mb) and should be in the ZIP directory of your SD card.

PM me if you have mislaid your file;)

From memory TomTom 5 on Pda(No idea on the all in one jobs), as long as you have the 8.2mb file what you need to do is just make a new empty folder in the main tomtom directory called ......... tomtom.

Hope it helps

Not round Nottingham they weren't. Well, not when I'm tired they aren't. You would have thought I'd have got on better in Stoke-on-Trent, seeing as I drive through it on average twice a month, but no  :o

Satnav will (and seemed to get you Richy_Boy) to more or less the right place. Which entrance to use comes down to signposting.

What we need for next year are TESCO signs from JAE and back again :D
My first Friday teatime expedition lasted two hours and involved seeing far more of Peterborough than I ever wanted to.

For anyone searching JAE threads before July 2007, you want the A1139 and signed Cygnet Park. You can't see Tesco from the main road anymore because the bastard trees got bigger :D

If you get into Peterborough's one way system, you could be lost for days in it :wack:

I went to the Peterborough beer festival in 2004 for a stag night and could see the hotel we were staying in from about three different roads, but none of them led me to the hotel car park :annoyed:. I ended up reversing down a one-way street to get there :wack:
