Well, last night as I was coming home from work (23:15), it was all rather greasy on the roads...
Put into a r'bout, not too fast (well it was wet), window open to have a listen to what is going on, as you do...
get round most of teh r'bout, perfect traction then...
all hell breaks loose.

with no sound, the back end starts to shake out, so battle with that. Somehow the front wheels get up on the r'bout, so am going roughly sideways like that. Finally battle the car up onto the r'bout itself, bringing the car to a halt not far off my original line...

Can't remember the bump of the fronts getting over the r'bout lip and onto the grass, so must have slithered it up sideways...
Sure I should have dropped a gear as the slide started, but what you learn on a low-speed protected skid pan doesn't really have much relevance in the wild!!! LOL

It was interesting andf somewhat fun as well :) Prevented a full on spin though, so I'm quite pleased with myself.

The odd thing is, I am sure it was my fault, but the speed wasn't excessive, nor was teh boost pressure at the time. It is an evil r'bout and covered in ruvver, so I think I got unlucky. Naughty naughty tho... ;)

:D were i live theres this island thats more like a tight egg shaped thingy and is also slippy as hell no matter what speed i go i end up sideways :( maybe i should try slowing down to 50mph and see that helps ;) :D

that was the first, probably not the last.
The really WIERD thing was that the final stages of the event happened while I was having an out of body experience...
All I can remember is watching the car and myself... very odd.

I'm all for OOBEs, but NOT while I'm trying to get the car out of a spin TYVM

good recoverage.

:D

Its all downhill from here you will go thru what I did now.

After I lost it on a roundabout I spent the next fortnight granny driving in the wet.

Then BMW Bri came down and we went out one day. He said I was taking the mick driving at L plate speeds everywhere in the wet and to stop being afraid of the backend. Kept banging on about the s14's handbrake being so perfectly positioned as a drift brake lol.

So on a late night in the wet it started off as trying to break traction by applying alot of power coming out of junctions on the back roads.

Mastered that but now I want to break the roundabout barrier as that tends to be a second gear affair at higher speeds.
