View Full Version : Burnout 2
Anyone played it? one of the guys in the Fast and the furious post in the general section says it's dead good.
If not does anyone know of any decent racing games on tha PS2 with good tracks and Jap cars (apart from GT3)?
There's a playable demo on the front of one of the ps2 magazines this month.
It's pretty good, but it's an arcade racer and not nearly as accurate as GT3. One feature I like is the oncoming traffic, but I'm not keen on the cut scene animation everytime you crash

It was me who liked the game. I'm a die-hard GT3 fan. I love realism. I really like F355 Challenge (which is a feckin hard racer but a damn good challenge). I dislike Need For Speed, Porsche Challenge, Ridge Racer, Burnout etc. But strangely I enjoyed Burnout 2. Maybe its the mad risks you can take, the fast paced action, the sound of the engines and jap-style DV, the madly styled cars, the racing on real roads, the boooooost... play to win and the crash scenes allow you to take a breath/blink. Damned good fun :D

I would concur with shadowninja - it rocks.
You know that feeling you get when you've just narrowly avoided writing off your car by doing somehting silly, but none the less was cool? Well, you get that feeling quite a lot with Burnout 2! :D
In summary, great graphics, great feel (but not realistic - ie you can play this when drunk), and most of all, it rewards you for driving like a cnut at 150mph in built up areas :D :D :D

I luv it!!
Really good game, thrill, excitement, etc...
The graphics are excellent, even if you don't have much time to admire them (moving water, highjackers girlies, and so on...)
...
and yes:
IT ROCKS!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D
