Frisbee was also keeping that 355 very honest in the session before

I did exactly the same a few years ago on a Ducati 996:nod: I swear I was superman for a whole 3 seconds:wack:
:notworthy :notworthy
the 'goodish' first lap also had a bit of a moment too
how long did it take you to pick the gravel out of the car?
most of it is still there, there was A LOT, in some very odd places :wack:
My MOT tester found it in the wishbone bushes a year later :wack:
Its on my shelf at home
Aye, on the wipers, sun roof and on top of the battery :wack:

Short session as Id come back into the pits as somthing sounded wrong. Turned out in the rush to leave the pits id left the handbrake on for a lap and it wasnt happy. This might have been why my rear disks cracked :wack:
A session with a BMW driver on top form, eg not letting me past at all for just about the whole session even though i was alover him in the corners

Some very, er, commited driving there Yak. :D What tyres are you on btw?
Edit - Just watched the BMW one, what a cock
Some rather 2nd hand (well they are now as Ive got gravel trapped between the rim and the tyre) Toyo T1-S's

At the start it looked like both your cars were pretty evenly matched. How did the tyres stand up in terms of wear Yak?
LOL, naa SM was letting his tires and brakes warm up. While mine were best when not to hot and was giving it fulll beans from the start. To SMs surprise! Heh
Tyre ware wasnt to bad but the surface at Donnington is very smooth. Wasnt a far test as they have been on the track quite a few time.

Time for some Rally Slicks then ;) :D
Oh and I did say you looked well matched at the start, although I think you're prolly doing yourself a dis-service, you looked very fast throughout most of the video's even though you was sliding about a fair old bit :D
I've just watched said vid (D1, and not becasue Yak is so sideways :p ) having spotted Yaks second sideways moment in my RVM, I hadnt realised that that was his second moment on the first lap out of the pits. Yes I was going steady and warming stuff up BUT ... Once I passed that Evo i was in full swing, and Yak was very close. I was being careful, that was in the morning and for some reason my confidene wasnt up to its normal levels (not have drivin the S13 for a few weeks, its having gained 60bhp siince last donny and on unfamilar yet powerful brakes). Very impressed by how close Yak was - given he was on stock brakes, and I was on 330mm and my DJ01's Vs Yaks Toyo's. Power is close, both ~220@wheels although I'm sure my delivery is better (T28 at low boost Vs T25 with as good as a welded actuator :smash: )
I was faster later in the day, but I'm sure Yak was too, come the 29th, when we both have out next race, both on road tyres, and me back to less extrvegent brakes I think it will be very very close - we are currently at 1 apiece for race results, with Yak beating me in the championship.
Who will have the most balls up the narrow twisty tree-lined hill? Probably Yak
Great looking day
Good vids Yak:thumbs:
What evo was it 8 MR FQ?
That first moment out of the pits round redgate was handled with one hand as I was still tightening my harness straps with my other as Id forgotten to do them in the pits :wack:
Humm the last sprint was a little unfare as your 14 wasnt exactly track ready though it did have more grunt.
Hopeing I can get the car back into share and MOTed before JAE and the Loton hill climb.
The Evo was a FQ340
And didnt like getting out of the way
Looked like he just dived out of the pits infront of you aswell:rolleyes:
He didnt like getting out of your way because he was soooo much faster than you as his car cost £24k+ so there was no way you could go faster than him:nod: :wack: lol
Yeah, despite the breifing saying that just becasue you were coming down the pitlane didnt mean you could just pull out, but had to wait and find a gap.
It was fun catching and overtaking the 355, unfortunatly the big camera battery couldn't take the hammering across the curbs so no video of that lap. I was catching it again pretty quickly in another session but it was black flagged because of noise.
Looking at my laps I think my best time was about 1:30.5, 6 seconds faster than in april. The overtaking tips I picked up from the Oulton thread really helped, a bit of a gap going into the corner and just accelerating past them on the exit. I just need more grip now, although my mix of standard size F1s and T1Rs aren't bad and are wearing extremely well.
Yak's even scarier incident during the day was when striptease music started playing over the tannoy just as SM pulled into the pit garage and got out the car.:ghey:
I've just watched said vid (D1, and not becasue Yak is so sideways :p ) having spotted Yaks second sideways moment in my RVM, I hadnt realised that that was his second moment on the first lap out of the pits.
Im surprised you didnt comment about my commentry! First time Ive lissened to that vid. LMAO :wack:
I was ignoring the yakbabble, maninly as I was at work with very low sound/mute.
About to download and watch them all now.
