View Full Version : 350 selling well...

I was at an international conference and exhibition on Intelligent Transport Systems in Chicago this week. After discussing some technical issues with a Japanese specialist on the Nissan stand, I mentioned I had a 200sx. He told me that the 350 was selling fantastically well in the US and that Nissan had put additional production shifts on, even during their holiday season (pretty drastic step apparently). Even employees had to wait 6 months because customers came first.

I suppose that's good news in one way, but it probably means that they won't start to sell in the UK until they have met the US demand.

Apparently Nissan aren't taking it to the motor show later this month:mad:

That might be why  Bloody yanks, they get all the best stuff first!!!

I was down the dealership (AGAIN!) the other day and they said that Nissan MIGHT just import them in small numbers through a dedicated specialist (presumably like Middlehurst and the Skyline), blows my chance of a test drive I suppose!

Coincidentally there is a review of the 350Z in today's Sunday Times called "The new Zee? Wow!" A quote, "...it leaves the Audi TT, Honda S2000 and Boxster S trailing in its wake".

Perhaps if it does get officially imported we could turn up on mass in the SX's.

Book a day and all have a test drive as 'prospective customers'?

Might be worth an ask.

All it would take is a good coat of wax and looking as if you've got £28-32k to spare:p

I can do the first bit, but might struggle with the second!

Just have to wait until it comes over:D :D :D

After reading the article in the Times, I came to the conclusion that Nissan appear (IMHO) to be a bit sneaky.
All this "ooh we don't really know how much it'll cost, and we might/might not be importing etc..." seems to smell of over hyping.

We all know how successful the Audi TT has been in this country, and how cars like Imprezas in the past, and latterly the Merc SL have benifited from good residuals due to rarity.

Why not stop playing the PR game and just import the blimmin car at a reasonable price, then let us all make up our own minds.

Oh and the Damon hill 'road test', why not just pay for an advert for your car hire company like evryone else??
