RE: Where have all the :ghey: bears gone?

After Gary texting me tonight, I think it's time we had a little group hug and casual get together as everyone seems a bit knacked (or broke issues) lately. Perhaps a trip to the beach or something.

I think your all depressed cos you've spent all your readies and now you can't afford to buy more, you guys feel down  I'm in the same boat, just now i've taken a proper look at my finances and worked a decent budget that still allows me to buy parts  Just i have to save for them first. (thats no fun but it's better than getting further in debt... although i'm tempted by a 2.4 stroker kit :D

Bad Matteh no! :whip: :D

Just spent 2.5 hours ripping plants up out the back & filled 5 huge bin bags with leaves etc :S

Taken the route of doing stuff to distract me from the car, got loads to be done about the house right now & will keep me occupied for a fair while. As for everyone else... fecked if I know where they are.

I might be mad, but i believe this is a 2.4 stroker kit for sr20det engines :D

http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/customer_part_detail.asp?PartID=380

You gotta admit that a 2.4 would be soooo worthwhile doing  Can you say 'South West project engine' ?

Anyway... a casual get together would be nice. Even lonely drivers are welcome :wack: ;) Channie >> "...early evening dinner time beach event with bbq???" Yeah i'm liking that idea.

Channie> The JWT 2.4 kit is a mere $4459.00 (although the kit isn't actually finished yet as it's still in production. I have seen it said you can use the jwt crank and other pads (eagle) and get just over 2.4.

Unfortunately US. It works out about £2449. Sure you have to pay for getting the sleeves put in etc, but at least you'll have a very nice engine and not a 2nd hand RB.

Mammoth> so when do i get a ride?

 well im 112 pound lighter now:cry: found an egg in my sidewall so new tyre and had the tracking done 100% better now, Goodyear f1s are quite expensive glad i know one of the guys at Gupa p

Yeah, the things really start to add up if you've got a car that 6+ years old, cos those little things (not expensive in themselves) all add together. lol

£112 is rather expensive for a tyre though *ouch* (although i did pay £100 inc fitting etc for my rear tyre (which now has a puncture :annoyed: )

Saturday 22nd - Sunday 23rd july (Although I have heard you can go there on the Friday).

Blonde moment? I find i've had a few of those on here since i've joined so don't worry :o

I think seeing as it's pretty close it might be better to leave this cheap beach excursion until after JAE (so at least peeps can save more money that way for JAE).

Matt did you go JAE? i forgot to ask u.

Scougar
26-07-2006, 15:49
Not in the end :o

I had a long chat with Mel about it and with you not going and the price of petrol to go there, the words "I haven't really budgeted for it" cames out of my mouth. It was gonna cost about £150 to go up there and back all in, and at the moment i really need to get the turbo gasket sorted and pay for the almost mandatory braided lines for the turbo. I'm also hoping to get the downpipe as well done at the same time (more expense) as I don't want to be without a car for too long by having to do the whole thing again when i get a downpipe a few weeks later (which will be a right pain in the arse as the bolts are completely seized

I even tried to justify the expense of going by selling stuff on ebay so don't think that i didn't try. In reality that will go on the downpipe.

So basically cash flow is the reason i didn't go. I wanted to go but with me getting married i have for the first time am having to learn to budget and sacrifice certain things, and not just spend willy-nilly.

NEXT YEAR> Now heck ... I am gonna be SOOO ready :D Oh and we are trying to work out if we can afford to go to the free track day that apex are putting on. Gonna be SOOO many cars eek.

Won't be going up to Exeter this month, starting to wonder on the point behind it when really the only other peeps up there I chat to are Chris & Elvis. Might be interersted in going out for a big pub lunch together somewhere in Plymouth though as that doesn't involve about 30 quid of petrol to go to Exeter & back :p
