Hi everyone, just bought my first 200SX! :)

Quite pleased with it generally. It's a G plate with 113K on the clock and doesn't smoke or burn oil, runs smooth. Got it for a grand. All the electrics work (except 1 bulb has popped). It sat for a year, but runs really good.

It does have a few faults, interiors soaked and will need a good valet to fix and also it failed an MOT on brake pipes (but it stops really well, a testement to the cars abilities??) It's also got a rotten boot lid and some aftermarket parts I'm not keen on (DV, 17" Alloys which don't look too good IMHO, 'generic' big exhaust)

Anyways, I hope to have a bit of fun with my new motor when it's road legal. Hopefully I'll see some of you around!

Cheers,

Alex

hello mate and welcome to the board. and of course sx ownership :D

just a couple of points - sx brakes on a g are sh*te - unless theyve been uprated? you will quickly find you get lots of fade
oh and water in the boot is not exactly uncommon:rolleyes:

with regards to the aftermarket stuff im sure that someone on the board will take the stuff you dont like off your hands at some point :)

best of luck

Hiya, thanks for your reply!

Standard brakes are sh*te?? Wow, makes me wonder what I've been putting up with over the last 3 years with my old car!! My old brakes must be reeeeeeaaaaalllllly pants!

Yeah, thought I might be able to sell some stuff and yeah, I had heard a watery boot wasn't uncommon. It's not that I don't like 17"s, I just don't like those ones LOL! I'm just too fussy!

Suppose I won't know how good a deal I really got till I op it through my own MOT.

Oh, and can anyone confirm if the engine is an interference or non-interference one - if the belt goes will it kill the valves / pistons??

Thanks!

Alex

Ha ha very funny!

I was up looking at the motor today and having a poke around underneith - it's got a generic back box with what looks like a standard exhaust - I can already sense the emptiness of my wallet!

I've already got a few bits I can fit from my last project - autometer boost & A/F guage, and a charge temp sensor. Hopefully these'll keep me entertained for a few weeks!;)
