View Full Version : Where to get air con fixed Bristol/Gloucester??
I need to get my air con looked at as it has just stopped working:mad: . I have checked the obvious, fuse/belt etc, but all that seems fine. Maybe it just needs re charging. Either way, does anyone know of a decent company that can take a look and not rip me off. Anywhere in Bristol or Gloucester is good for me
Apparently Bath Performance Cars are very good with air con - they're also the only garage I trust... been working on mine and my mate's cars for years.
They're in Peasedown St. John just outside Bath :)
more like the condensor or compressor is broke mate
......the compressor is fine (I think) as you can still tell it's kicking in and out as the revs rise and fall on idle........

There's a chap on here called Al (not sure exactly how that's spelt on here) who bought my car. I was chatting about the collection of non-worky bits on my Merc and the Aircon being the trickiest as it's the old sort, and he mentioned a garage in Bristol that's aparently very good and sensibly priced. If I can find his username I'll PM him a link to this thread for you
*edit* found and PM'd

.........can recommend LSUK on Bristol Road, Gloucester. They did a free air con check and confirmed that the system had no leaks. The problem was down to the fact that there was only 11% of gas in the system (so 89% air I spose).
So, I asked them to regas the system, and now I have lovely cold air con again, all within 30 mins. Cost £60, a small price to pay
I've always wondered this... if the system has no leaks, then were does all the gas go
I mean, you don't have to re-gas your fridge every few years.

Maybe I should actualy get the Merc gassed up and sorted too now all these companies have been mentioned:whip:
.............now I keep blowing the 7.5amp fuse for the aircon (the one located under the bonnet with all the other main daddy fuses), anyone got any ideas why this would be. Does not blow straight off, lasts a couple of days then blows, done it 3 times now
replace it with a lump of metal :wack:
