its reverse marketing...he's gonna hang around the other traders :)
Jez - Good luck to you! I *might* come along to watch this round, but I could be saddled with other jobs in the meantime. Show 'em what an S13 can really do!
I'm still toying with the idea of entering a round of this... There are a couple of problems though:
1. We've only got a 5 point rollcage (Rather than the stipulated 6 point). However, it is MSA approved and is used in door to door racing in the MR2 Challenge!
2. The towing eyes are painted yellow instead of red! :ghey:
3. Would the organisers give a Mk1 MR2 4AGE powered car the time of day?
Cheers,
Squizz

You don't need any proper safety stuff for the club challenge, so your car would be fine :)

Definitely. And Im going to make a point of finally coming and meeting you in person mate, rather than making rather :ghey: shouty noises as you hack past myriad Evos etc. :D
Good luck Jez, fingers crossed for another top result
Good on you Jez,
I can't afford to go up both days so I think most of us will be heading up on the 18th for the D1 stuff:thumbs:
Best of luck:D

MSA approval is good, I am confused though regarding the missing point - what leg is not attached where?!? As Jez has said the safety regs aint as hot for the clubman category.

Any aversion to painting them red? You could aways wrap red insulating tape around them, we're big on towing stuff so that we can get stranded cars off the track and keep the action flowing - dead track time makes for unhappy punters and competitors.

Do you think you can drive better than those with more power? If so give it a go, the more diverse cars the better.

We'll be there, me and the pygmy-brother (under 180cm), as Mr. Moby already mentioned :) Never seen any time attack before so really looking forward to it too, as well as seeing the British dori-action! It's a shame we don't have a time attack series over here, the S12 would definately be there.

I'll be there with the SVA Team - 350z D1 & R34 TimeAttack
Will come and find you Jez and say hi - your advice has been much appreciated via msn

There are effectively two main hoops, one front, one rear. A fifth leg comes off the rear hoop and goes into the passenger footwell. Well, there's no room for rear legs in a Mk1 MR2. ;)

Sounds like I was looking at the wrong regs. We should be fine, besides our car is stickered up with TOW marks and red arrows. The towing eyes are painted yellow as they're more visible on our dark blue car.

LOL!
It'd be interesting to see how it stacks up against varied cars rather than other MR2's though. I'm very interested in having a go and have made sure I'm free to come and have a look on the 17th.
Look forward to meeting peeps there, and making shouty noises supporting Jez
Ah. :indiff:
I've just looked at the track overviews for the Time Attack circuits. Rockingham looks OK, but Silverstone might as well be driven by a top fuel dragster!
Not enough corners for a lightweight, low powered car to make much of an impact. :(
Dunno, might yet try it. Might always get Karen to enter instead and see if we can generate some column inches in various mags and try and attract some sponsors for her MR2C stuff. Are there currently any ladies driving in the Time Attack?
:Plug:
You're right, I think silverstone is going to be a power circuit. Lots of straights.
There are a couple of other women drivers - one in a 700bhp viper and the other in a R34 GTR (IIRC)

Will suit a high powered and sleek S13 then!

Oooh, interesting. I'll see if I can talk her into it.
Just watching the F1 qualifying - they're f-ing quick aren't they - don't really realise just how quick they are until you seem them on a circuit you've driven...
Exactly what I was thinking :notworthy
I think you've still got a chance to passing Button mind :wack:
Hi Jez/guys/gals,
We also have a guy in a Peugeot 106GTi entering so don't think it's all high powered cars only, that's not the spirit :) .
Yes Silverstone is fast but thats the balance we have tried to achieve by using the 3 circuits this year. Hopefully next year we have even more variety.
Here's your class guys Jez:
Maxim Taylor Mazda RX7 FD3S RWD
Tony Pearman Lotus Elise RWD
Tony Kember PORSCHE GT3 RWD
Thomas Farnam Nissan 200SX S14 RWD
Jeremy Horsham Nissan 200SX S13 RWD
Nadine Geary Dodge Viper RWD
Stuart Turvey GT3 RWD
And I've still got your trophies from Rockingham in the van mate, see you Saturday.
Glen
Two GT3s, oh joy!! :wack:
Well at least you'll have a chance to see what the GT3 gets you for that sort of money. And work out the £££/sec. ratio based on that.
Rob
Roight! :wack:
I've been given the go-ahead to borrow the motor, so if it doesn't get mashed at Pembrey next month I'm going to apply for entry to the August 20th round.
"For England, and St.George!"
:ingerland
Just remember to go and make yourselves a cuppa when I start my run and I don't take sugar, thanks... :ghey:
PS. Oh yeah, I'll come along on Saturday and see how the land lies.
PPS. Erm, Jez, watch yer back as I believe we'll be in the same class! LOL!
