Hello

Got my first track day in just over a week. I have done or are going to do at the weekend all the checks that I can think of.

But I was thinking, when I do an oil change should I change the coolant? I have had the car for a few months and havent changed the coolant yet (I know I should really). It doesnt over heat or anything. Would it be worthwhile to change the coolant before the track?

If so what type of coolant does a s14a take?

Sorry for dumb question but I am bot nervous about getting the car in as good a condition that I can!!:smash:

Thanks

in my opinion it cant hurt to change the coolant:)

you want a large tub of summer coolant/antifreeze from halfords and i think you want about 2 litres of coolant then top it up to full with water:thumbs:

good luck for the trackday you will have loads of fun:nod:

When i changed my coolant i use a 40-60 mix 40% antifreeze 60% water. Just used a halford brand of ethylene glycol antifreeze.

If you're feeling super rich try some of the Silkolene stuff from Oil Man, it isn't mixed.

I might use distilled if I lived in a very hard water area (limescale risk). In a soft water area tap water is fine.

If you have some means of collecting rainwater, that's good too.
