Hi,

Bloke told me last night that his Vauxhall Omega MV6 is "much faster" than my 200. Is this true? He said he had 230 hp.

Spec. in sig.

I would imagine it's a fair bit more lardy than a 200 - I wouldn't think it would be 'much faster'

edit - Parkers website quotes the following

s13 0-60 6.7, 137 top speed
s14 0-60 7.5, 146 top speed
Omega 2.6i v6 0-60 8.5, 142 top speed
Omega 3.2 v6 0-60 8.8, 145 top speed

The highest bhp figure given was 217 for the 3.2 v6

I never heard of "MV6" before - is it maybe a special edition?

cheers ant, so I should be faster to 60, but with (slightly) lower top speed (141-145 as opposed to 151)

Yeh, I'd say that. They are a 3.0 so I think it is pretty much inevitable their top end is going to be higher.

Top speed is influenced by just two factors, power and drag, so yes he probably does have a slightly higher speed.

In normal road conditions, I'd expect you to have a pretty big straight line advantage in acceleration until probably 135mph.

So unless you're on the M1 or an airfield, chances are you'd stuff the guy.

Why not prove the point, give him a standing start 1/4mile race, you should kill him on that.

Has he got the manual version or the Auto???

My mate has an MV6 Auto and although its pretty quick the auto box takes some serious thrashing to get the boat going:D

Even with the sport button pressed in it feels like a turbo with tonnes of LAG:(

Take him out and have him killed:D

I no how you could find out go and do a bank job and get chased by a police one then report back to us and let us no lol
