Been doing a track day at castle combe, just started raining before my session the stoped when I was out. Anyway it was either the greasy track, rubbish rear tyres, rubbish driver or desel :smash: and the result at the last corner was I lost the rear end a little on entry, caught it, got to the apex, lost the rear big time on the exit and ended up in the middle of the track on the grass faceing the wrong way just past the advertising boards. The morral of the story is make sure you keep within your limits, I was lucky no damage to the car
At least you kept it out of the tyre barrier
All learning  Hopefully will calm a few down on Sat when theres lots of us there.
The last corner at castle coombe scares the crap out of me, sounds like a lucky escape.

You were lucky mate  Some poor bastard did just that at the spring action day and rolled it :(
Glad you escaped unscathed
I guess you were on track when I dropped by, I failed btw - 101db for some odd reason :wack:
Feck knows why, it's always been 97-98db till now and the 'zorst and gaskets are all perfect at the mo
My thoughts are either the de-cat silencer (replaced recently with another) or the fact it was p1ssing it down when I drove over so I was more restrained than normal and the pipe didn't get very hot....
Although someone at work suggested I should try making it run rich to drop the volume as the 'bang' would be slightly muted (does make sense if you think about it), which if followed logically means I may have failled because of recently fitting new Sparkplugs*. :wack: :smash:
* the old ones were dieing which resulted in weak spark, missing, and as a consequence, running rich....
When I was queueing for the Castle Coombe action day, a Cossie RS500 slid on that corner, hit the grass boardside and rolled :( :( That was in the dry...
Yup, they warn you about Quarry loads, but people tend to forget that last corner. There's always accidents there at Japfest.
and i get the feeling with the torrential downpour thats predicted for the weather and saturday there could well be a few more :(

TBH I think Old Paddock Bend (after Quarry and The Esses) is worse than Camp because you can't see the apex very well, or the exit, it narrows and you're supposed to take it flat out.
Quarry is the one they always warn about, Camp is normally fine but I do brake quite a lot for it so maybe that's the key :)

My least favourite corner (there all fun really) is Avon Rise, just before Quarry, nothing like that for completely unsettling your car! :)
I don't mind camp (corner!) myself, actually its one of my favourites, the faster the better

I'd imagine it's quite different in a FWD car though ;)
Will Fiver be ready for the Classic & Sports Car day on the 17th June?

Indeed it is  Thats why Avon rise is my largest problem, how many FWD crashes do we see every time we're there? Luckily so far, none have included me!
I'n not sure whether she will be ready, can't even get under the bonnet at the mo, damn cable snapped again. We should never have bodged that in the first place :wack:

Very good point - think I'm going to poo myself in the 205 at Eurofest in September :wack:
Can't you do your usual lie on the floor and reach up trick to open the bonnet?

It's a slightly fun bit that  You'll enjoy the rest though!
Yeah i'm going to when i get round to it. The car works and drives, just got to sort the brakes, much bleeding and a wire brush methinks. If i can do that, we'll make it.
Help me fix it! :whip:

I was about to tell you to stop being so :ghey: - then I remembered that the only place at Combe I've ever had an off was at old paddock in the pouring rain driving a Formula Ford. Think I managed 3 full revolutions as I left the track :smash:
Camp corner is great fun though so I'm going to call you teh gayer anyway :p :D

I never said it wasn't fun :p
I'm damn sure I don't have your driving skills, I'm also sure that I don't wish to find out just how skilful I'm not by pushing my S13 which I've spent countless thousands on until I find the limit/tyre wall.
Therefore I take it 'a bit' more easy :)

Sadly (or perhaps not ;)) I won't be trying to demonstrate said alledged skills any more on sat :(
Don't suppose you have a spare seat do you :)
You know I'm only taking the piss anyway :D

What the hell have you done to your car this time!?
I think all my seats are taken sadly.
