Just bought a house, exchanged contracts yesterday wooohooooooo :D although the 10% deposit and fees means that I have nada money literally lol.

3 bed semi in patchway, nice big garden, decent sized house, needs a bit of work but I saved a lot of money because of that. Even better since I had my bid accepted house prices have went up 10 grand in the area so im quids in already. Its got a large area at the back of the garden with garage sized foundations but just a large wooden hut on it so I will want to build a double garage when I can afford it and start repairing an s13 shell or something for fun :) .

Problem is I dont have anything to spend on the car anymore so in order to rectify that I will be renting out the spare rooms. So there are 2 large rooms which will have a new ikea double bed, desk, wardrobe etc in them available in a weeks time once ive bought it all in and sorted out some things. Its clasped as south gloucester so cheaper to insure a 200 then in bristol. Anybody interested let me know, discount for club members lol :)

Yep, theres a front garden which will obviously have its wall knocked down to hold 2 cars :wack: theres a driveway around the back and if I take the fence down I can get another two around the back (where im going to build the double garage but as it will be around 500-1000 quid in building materials and planning permission it may take me a while so im not starting a project car yet, shouldnt be too hard as both nextdoor neighbours have double garages) Also a big garden so that I can lye out in the sun :)

One of the key things I looked for in a house was parking :) and most of bristol is really bad for it so I think ive done well for my money. Need space for tools and stuff.

yeah patchways not a bad place to live in, you can get quite alot for your money, and even more if you can put the work in on somewhere.

Yep nice to be down the road from cribbs good for shopping and getting all the DIY stuff in, its also only 10mins bike ride to work which is important for me not to drive in rush hour and ruin the twin plate clutch. You do still get a lot of house for your money there but its quickly catching up with the rest of bristol (averaged 15K per year over hte last 3years). I saw another great place down the road was repo'd and up for 129K but I think you can get it for 125, absolutley massive garden as its a corner semi enough for about 4 garages lol. If it was done up, i.e all the hole in the walls plastered over and new doors etc I think it would be around the 145-155 mark. Especially since the defence logistics organisation are relocating 4000 people to the filton area (mainly rich officers too) could be even more.

Only problem is theres a set of local authority flats half a mile away, but I figure they will nick the new subaru or the supra down the road before they go for my mondeo

theres not alot of stealing that goes on in patchway. when i was living there i met alot of the local lads and they always said that they dont knick from their own, they prefer to go to bradley stoke to steal stuff :D was never sure if that was a good thing or not.
