Afternoon all!

Big thanks for getting my tele order of Friday PM out to me for Sat

Now :)

I've been reading up and it seems my choice to buy an electrical oil pressure sender may have been a bad one, seeing as it will be a struggle to fit the sender into the sandwich plate.

Do you do a braided hose or similar to run from the sandwich plate to the sender unit? (I have Autometer 1/8nt fitting BTW)
Or are your sandwich plates accommodating enough to fit the Autometer senders?

Cheers
Alex

Sorry, what sandwich plate was it? Greddy? Did you ask it to be tapped for you?

Hi Bren,

no, i haven't ordered one yet - i've got Autometer Gauges and need a sandwich plate - i've read about fitment problems due to the physical size of the electronic pressure senders - is this an issue with your 1/8nt compatible plates?
Do you have a braided hose or simliar to allow remote fitment of the (large) pressure sender unit away from the sandwich plate / oil filter / block / temp sender?

Cheers

Ah, I get you.

We had the odd reported problem but then many people have fitted then with no issues.

We do a suitable braided hose, theyre £19. Have you got an oil temp gauge as well? If not then you can just run the braided hose straight from the block and miss out the sandwich plate.

how much are your Autometer compatible plates?

I am interested in this I think. I have an oil pressure and oil temp gauge (both autometer) that need to go on my car, and as usual it appears it isnt as straight forward as I thought it would be.
Dont know how these are too be fitted, am guessing the both need to go into a sandwich plate.
If I fit the sandwich plate, will the senders just go into that, and then jobs a good un, or do I need a braided hose like error404 has suggested?
Also how much for a 3 gauge din holder?
How much in total?
Would it be easier if I rang to discuss what I need?
Cheers.
By the way sorry for the hijack. Just thought it was relevant hahahahaha

Greddy sandwich plates are £49.

Climbers,

Yep, you fit the sendors into the sandwich plate and the sandwich plate to the block.

Triple din plates are £20.

Carriage options are here :)

Hmmmmmmmm rethink time.
I rang up this afternoon, and was told that as I have autometer gauges they need to be mechanical not elecrtical for me to be able to use the sandwhich plate. Please help, what can I do now? I cant afford to buy another gauge.
Would I have to do what Error404 has said about doing, and buy 2 braided pipes to move the senders away from the plate itself?
Please help, I start a new job next week, and am trying to get through a list of things to do before I run out of time hahahahahaha

We say that to cover our back as we have had a report about the electrical sendors being too big. We have sold a number of electrical gauges with no reported problems though.

Would the braided pipes be of any benefit? And do you have all the stuff in stock that would fit the autometer gauges to my car?
I would need (I think) The sandwich plate, 2 braided pipes (would I need these) and the 3 din gauge holder (how does this fit?) And an oil filter too. All for the facelift S13

They wont do anything bar move the senodrs away from the sandwich plate and cause the oil temp gauge to under read.

We have all the parts in stock. Im 95% that the problems with the electrical sendors stemmed from S13s running Jap engines that dont have the water to oil cooler behind the filter. This means the sandwich plate sits closer to the block and is what probably caused the occasional problem.

Hi I've read this thread but I can't seem to find out exactly what it is that I need to have to fit the electronic Autometer Oil Pressure sender?
I won't be fitting a oil temp gauge for now(maybe later)so just the oil press gauge.

Bren could you just tell me what it is I need to get from you to fit this sender? :)

Braided pipe £19

If you want to retain the original oil pressure switch then youll also need a T piece at £6.50.

Thats it :)

So the braided pipe is connected in the block where the standard oil pressure sender was and goes into the electric oil press sender?

And if I would like to fit a oil temp gauge as well I would then need the Greddy Sandwich plate?

Cheers for your help Bren,
Have ordered the sandwich plate, oil filter and din gauge holder. See how it goes, if that doesnt work then I will bodge it woth the braided pipes, I wouldnt of thought it would make a huge difference, I aint racing the car or anything, just need a rough idea what is going on, (and thats got to be better than the standard stuff!!!)

Yep and no, not necessarly but the alternative is to drill and tap your sump so essentially, yes, you will need a sandwich plate :)

Top draw all at Apex. Rang up Friday afternoon, and ordered me stuff, was told you would try and post it out ASAP, but it might only get posted on Monday. Now it is Saturday evening and my car is sat on axle stands with no oil in no oil filter, cause me stuff arrived special delivery this morning!!!! I cant say any fairer than that can I?????
HAd a go at fitting the Sandwich plate and the senders today, but it looks bloody tricky due to the size of everything, but I will persevere and it will be done. How close to the alternator can one of these sendors be put????

Hi sorry to be a pain and all. Just wondering if you knew when the braided oil pipes would be ready? I ordered one on Monday morning I think it was. Stuart Heath live in St. Helens (dont wanna put me address on here, you know what they are like hahahahaha).
Once again sorry to be a pain!

We have the braided pipes to run from a standard Greddy sandwich plate but not from a sandwich plate thats been tapped to 1/8th npt. If you need the 1/8th npt fitting then its been ordered and is due any day :)

Thats the one I have ordered the 1/8th npt one. Cheers for that Bren

We got the fitting we need but the suppliers misunderstood the order. we asked for a converter to go from 1/8th basp male to 1/8th npt male but they sent an 1/8th npt male 1/8th bsp male fitting rather than 1/8th bsp female to 1/8th npt male.

The correct part is on its way now :)

Cheers Bren and all at Apex. It arrived about half hour ago, unfortunately I have no time to fit it before I go to work, so will have to try it later. It looks ok though  about 16 different fittings on it  so should be able to figure it out later on, am sure it will only fit one way :smash: :smash:
