Well not under my S13 but under my PC!!
Running my PC flat out the CPU runs @ 55 deg C and mobo @ 42 deg C, way too hot me thinks.
Mobo is the problem, stuck a fan on it, loadsa fans inside the pc flowing air about but cant get the temp down. Ambient temp is 25 deg C.
Basic spec is mobo MSI KT3 Ultra2, AMD XP2100, Creative Ge-force 4, PC2100 DDr memory.
Any obviouse ideas about cooliing would be much appreaciated.
Help, very hot Eddie.
Have you tried some way of getting the air inside out???
Get a fan to take outside air in (at the bottom of the case) then inside air out (top of the case as warm air rises).

i think i'll buy a fan tommorow mines running at least twice that:eek:
xp 1600+
Mate,
For an XP2100+ that CPU temp is bloody amazing with that case temp!!! Are you sure that the case temp is correct? The HS(Heatsink) fan can only use the case air to cool the heatsink so if the case air is already at 45oC !!!! My XP2100+ with a Thermalright SLK800 HS and a YS-TECH FD8125 47cfm fan averages around 45oC full load. The case temp is around 25oC. So yours is not bad especially if you don't have some kind of ninja HS on it!!

If you're really having problems with cooling, consider the following two options:
1. Uprate the heatsink/fan on your CPU. The Thermalright SLK800 is about the best thing you can buy now, although it's quite expensive.
2. Uprate your PC case. I achieved as much an improvement by changing the case, as I did the CPU heatsink. Having said that, the solution I use is pretty extreme and has 5 case fans running just to get air flow in and out of the case, and that's before the fans on the CPU, graphics card and power supply.
A good place to buy the bits from is www.overclockers.co.uk
They also have a very good technical helpdesk who were happy to give me advice on solutions.

Thanks guys,
Heat sink for CPU is standard AMD supplied with chip, so could be the first to go.
The MOBO northbirdge is a problem when it reaches 43 deg c the pc may either freeze or re-boot. My ASUS board never got this hot.
Have seen heatsinks for northbridge chips might give these a go. Perhaps the one on there may have not been fitted properly.
The Ambent temp I referred to was outside of the case not inside, haven't tried measuring that yet, probably a bit toasty in there. But if some of you guys have an inside case temp of 25 deg C that's pretty good, I reckon mine's a bit more than that.
Got 3 fans on there already 2 exit behind cpu 1 entry at front of case. Case will take 4 at the front so gonna stick a few more on.

added a 80mm fan and temps are
sys temp 27'c, cpu temp 40'c
may add an exhaust fan later
I bought the Lian Li PC60 about a year or so ago for £170. You can get this case now for about £99. Its bloody amazing and even with the standard (quite quiet) fans it achieves about a 25oC case temp in an room at about 17oC. I changed the fans for YS-TECH FD8125s at 47cfm each and the case temp on a cold day gets down to about 16oC.
I've since taken these fans out because I wanted a quieter machine. Just kept one of them on the HS and put the slower fans back in the Lian Li.
I had the same sorts of case temps previously on a sh1te case with 1x 120mm PAPST fan at the front bottom, one NIDEC Beta V 120mm on the side, directly over the CPU and one 92mm on the top as an exhaust fan. This was amazing cooling but AMAZINGLY LOUD!!! The Lian li is just as good with quieter fans!!!
