View Full Version : K-Sport anti bump steer track rod ends - £75 the pair.
We have a load of anti bump steer track rod ends in stock. When you lower a 200 the powersteering rack ends start to angle upwards to meet the hub. The more you lower the car the more of an angle you get.
When the cars front wheel hits a bump it goes up in its travel to ride over the bump. This upwards motion pulls the tie rods up with it and starts to pull on the bac of the hub causing the car to steer by itself. This is called bump steer.
Bringing the tie rods back horizontal helps eliminate bump steer and makes the car track better over bumps with less correction needed as you are no longer fighting a car thats doing its own thing.
We will definately be fitting these to our Skyline, S13 and S14
Pics will follow this evening :)

Bren,
How low before these need be considered? Nismo S-Tune low?
Trying to eliminate some wayward steering/handling and rods/ends are on the hit list.
Cheers,
Nige.
To be honest I dont know  I know the lower the car the bigger the problem becomes but I cant tell you that at Xmm drop you will get a significant improvement with the joints.

Hi Bren, I am interested in these. Do you know if these fit on the standard rods? Most of the aftermarket ends I have seen require other rods.
- James
We are just testing them now, Ill have the answer re S14s tommorrow and re S13s on Wednesday :)
I'm interested whether you do a group buy or not, can you do something with the rods aswell or is tein rods the only route?

Bump
The customer we sent a set of rod ends and Tein rods to just fitted the whole lot so Im non the wiser
If anyone wants a pair for 40 quid on the basis of them fitting them IMMEDIATELY and reporting back then its first come first served. They need to be on this weekend though.
I just need someone to test S14 at the moment.

AFAIK The Tein rods are different fitment to the 200SX standard items (I think they are the same as the Z32 rods). Thus if the K sport rod ends fit with the Tein rods then they won't fit with normal rods.
- James
I would bren but as said i think the tein rods are needed and to be honest i would want to renew them also...
We have tried K-Sport rod ends on Tein and what were sold to us as standard replacement rod ends and the rod ends fit both.
Bren, I have a set of Std S14 Track rods on the garage floor that I could whip them onto :)
Send em down ;)
The Tein are a 1.5 thread pitch and the std ones are 1.25 afaik. They are the same diamter (12mm IIRC)
ill take a set for the s13 to try them on, ill be working on the car this saturday if you can get them to me by then.
also ive got 5 stud hubs, i dunno if that would affect anything?
I need them fitting to a car though to check not only the thread but also the
overall length :)
big,
No probs, as long as you get the tracking set back up straight away then thats fine. Youll need to give us a ring to order though as Im going away this afternoon so wont see any further replies until next Wed at the earliest.

Hi Bren - how about a group buy on these and the rods, that way we will know they will fit?
Just a thought from an interested party.

Id be up for a gb on rods and ends for my s13. Think one of my rods in bent  .
Bren i still aint recieved these rods i was menat to be testing for you, been 2 weeks since i ordered them....
Yeah, our fault. We noticed that your parts hadnt been sent yesterday. Its because they were just down as the rod ends but when Ive been asked about them Ive automatically said that theyre not ready yet, we are just testing them so youre werent sent :wack:
Sorry, our fault.
I believe they were sent out yesterday so you should ahve them now :)

Well first off,
Thanks Bren  I received the ends yesterday.
I have now fitted them and had my tracking done. I have to say my car does feel a lot better (might have just been the tracking was out of course....)
I can confirm that they do fit on the standard arms (as still fitted to my car).
They have a fair amount of adjustment left in them with my modest drop (running on Eibach springs).
Once again, great value as far as I'm concerned, nice one Bren
